    Storm Time!!

I was the guest of Uncle Sam at Ft. McClelland in Anniston back in 1985. You folks have some weather to be sure. It went from fairly cold at night April 1 to being, as described in Biloxi Blues, "Africa hot" in no time. And, it seemed that everything that grew from the ground, flew or crawled...

I rather liked the alphabet search line across the top. Mike S.

    Tobacco Cellar

I don't notice much difference. I love the 8 oz tins of the GLP line. Once I open one, I do one of two things. I either place a piece of wax paper between the tin and the lid. This seems to keep the tobacco in a smokable condition for about 6 months with regular use, about a year if I leave it...

Savinelli Punto Oro Gold Straight Billiard Drilled Too Low and Off-Center?

Think of a floor drain in your basement, rather than a cartoon mouse hole in the baseboard. Mike S.

Savinelli Punto Oro Gold Straight Billiard Drilled Too Low and Off-Center?

Most of the pipes I smoke were made by me. I don't have many tools so, it can be quite a challenge to get the stem to fit flush on the shank and the drilling just right. For me, it's probably a matter of luck more than skill. I've made pipes drilled just as the one you show. Over time, I took...

    Possible To Darken Vulcanite?

If you remove the oxidization, it will, depending on the job you do, return to black. There are many tutorials on youtube that show you various methods. Mike S.

Disaster Struck at Pipestud's Consignment Shop!

Two things I've not seen in 33 years of buying tins. An overly puffy McClelland tin and a pop top actually give way. Mike S.

Weird Dunhill Double Date Suffix... Anyone Can Help?

What I find interesting is the the 8 is not underlined while the 9 is. Does that mean that the pipe went unsold for 11 years? Or am I just not seeing the unlined 8? Mike S.

    C&D Nutty Irishman

I remember one year at the NASPC show. A fellow was smoking a blend with a really pleasing aroma. A sked and he said it was Nutty Irishman. C&D had a booth at the show and I bought a couple of tins. It just didn't have the same effect on my palette as it did on my nose, when he was smoking it...

    C&D Briar Fox ?

I let a tin of Briar Fox from a NASPC raffle from 2004. I smoked it last Summer. It was pretty darned good. One of these days, I will pick up more. Mike S.

    Wither Hacker?

Well, Carl Ehwa has been gone since the mid 1970s but, I thank Dr. Fred Hanna every time I look at my remaining tins of Legends. Mike S.

    Wither Hacker?

I learned a great deal from The Ultimate Pipe Book. I discovered it in about 1992 or so, It seems more than a few think him a bit of an Elitist for lack of a better term. I don't know what became of him but, I don't think you ever hear from him outside of a forum with a revenue stream. Mike S.

    Cellar Olympics

Mine is large enough that I don't worry about tobacco. Not the largest by a long shot but, it makes me happy. Mike S.

    Cellaring Bulk Virginia Flake

Admittedly, I have always preferred to buy tins. However, I did but a bunch of bulk flakes in boxes from both Gawiths and some McClelland over the years. I originally put them in larger jars. When I open one and , most of this stuff is from the 2004-2009, I transfer the remainder into half pint...
