    Figure Age of Tinned Tobacco

Is the tin round or rectangular? That will narrow it down some. I believe there is a code above the bar code in which the first four digits give you yydd. Mike S.

    Is Having a Rotation Necessary?

My Grandfather smoked one pipe exclusively. The only times he didn't have a pipe in his mouth was while eating and sleeping. He never had two pipes in his possession and any time. He smoked Kaywoodies, Grabows and medicos. He replaced his pipe about every six weeks. Mike S.

What? No Coffee or Smoking for Several Days!

As I understand it, the smoking at least, can cause something called "dry socket". They say it's not good. I don't know how frequent it is. Mike S.

Not for Sale - Baffled by this Dinkelspiel Rack

If I had to guess, I would say it was designed for churchwarden length clay pipes. Mike S.

How do you Choose What to Smoke?

I go to the basement, stand in the doorway of the closet sized room I keep my tobaccos in and stare at them until one moves me. Mike S.

    New (To Me) Charatan!

I used to have a 58. It was a nice pipe. Love Charatans without that darned DC bit. Mike S.

    Dunhill Humidor

I don't know but I wouldn't be surprised if it was earlier. A beautiful piece. Mike S.

Seller Doesn't Accept Returns: Deal Breaker For You?

It would be a deal breaker on a pipe. I occasionally buy golf clubs etc. and I feel there's less a chance of getting screwed there. I assume no returns means the seller is either selling crap or, needs the money...now. Mike S.

What Blend did your Grandfather Smoke?

My Grandfather smoked Amphora Brown exclusively. Mike S.

School me on Pipe Smoking Contests

NASPC, then called OPC, held one pipe smoking contest in 1993 or 94. Much to the chagrin of Bill Unger, who apparently despised the events. Unfortunately, none of the pipes I brought was large enough to hold the entire 3.3 grams of tobacco. I came in 4th. There were prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd...

Medina Pipe Club - NASPC SHow

There certainly isn't any reason Ohiowise it shouldn't be able to be put on. All health orders in Ohio have been lifted. Mike S,

    Best Blends For Purposely Aging

Union Square. I can't tell you if it is the same as it was in 2009 but, the 2009 tins I have are really a classic. Mike S.

Radio Show On Apple Podcasts Only To #167

It wasn't that way four or so weeks ago for me, at least. They seemed to have changed the format for the app that I use. I'm not even sure where it comes from quite frankly. I still haven't been able to get episode 450 to appear but, episode 451 is there. Mike S.

Fred Hanna on Radio Show of April 20, 2021

Dr. Hanna made feel better today when I listened to the Podcast. I usually listen while I cut the lawn in the Summertime. Anyway, I was beginning to think I was crazy for my love of the original issue of McClelland The Sophisticate. In my mind, it was a Hall of Fame Virginia, simply incredible...

    Revor Plug Discountinued

I recall reading News and Views in the June 2014 issue of The Pipe Collector. For those who don't know, News and Views is a column written by Rich Esserman ,that is worth the annual subscription price alone. Anyway, he was recounting a conversation with the Lane LTD. rep about the discontinued...

Corona Old Boy Fuel Tank Question

I usually fill mine every week. I bleed it and all that and fill for about a 10 count. I don't have any idea how much more fuel it would hold. Mike S.
