Special Virginia in a clay; this blend dates back to 1770 so is very well suited to clay pipes.

@dingdong Sounds like it would suit the King's Clay! Andy says he was smoking it at the Sealed Knot events.

Just finished smoking year 2015 Mac Baren Virginia #1 in a pre-1923 smooth dark brown early Comoy’s Prior (Gros, Grenier, Ostero & Cie.) pot with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Enjoyed a wonderful chat with an old friend. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

A quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2019 HU Directors Cut in a smooth slight bend dark brown 1940s-1950s Comoy’s Blue Riband 228C prince with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Just fed all the ferals except for the absent Abner the Eager.

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am smoking year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Reading baseball box scores with Sleepy Suzy by my side. Daisy the Feral Princess is snoozin' by my feet. Tomato the Brave is snoozin' on Daisy's blanket. Molly Danger is snoozin' with m'lady.
I certainly do enjoy old Comoy's pipes. Even some of the later ones are pretty decent. Not long ago, I spent a day smoking Comoy's, and I might do it again. I thought about a Canadian/Lumberman/Liverpool day, too. I've done that a couple of times. Bulldog/Rhodesian day was fun for me as well.
