Passing the quarter mark on this bowl of KBV Voodoo Tour in a smooth medium brown medium bend 1950s B.B.B. Own Make 307 apple with a sterling silver band and black vulcanite saddle stem. Writing beta notes, and enjoying a visit by Basil Meadows. I've already loaded him up with tobacco. :)

A photo of me with the Redcoats & Revolutionaries blacksmith at Cromford Mill last year! Dad calls him 'the pipelighter':)
I was smoking C&D Yorktown in the clay churchwarden - an appropriate baccy choice! Unfortunately, I broke the churchwarden later that day...

What if you buy the baccy in tins and pouches, and then recycling them? 🤔
@PipeIT Good heads up; I use an empty pipe baccy tin and I'm thinking of using one for my firelighting kit when I get into bushcraft. It would be good to have learned to light my pipe with flint & steel by the Nottingham pipe smokers' meet-up in October!

I'm glad you are enjoying your aromatic journey. The get frowned upon at times, but "float" the pipe tobacco "ship". I enjoy aromatics on occasion (usually as the first smoke of the day).

My favorite aromatic is Arrowhead from Paul's Pipe Shop in Flint, which is a kitchen sink aromatic (with vanilla, carmel, and a whole mix of tobacco leaves). You can order by phone. I highly recommend it (along with adding a bit of a stouter blend to aromatics for more of a kick).

Get Grousemoor and Sakura, if either of you haven’t tried these. ;)

Second bowl in this new pipe.

Uhle’s Blend 00 in a Radice Clear Dublin, with Baldo Baldi briar aged over 20 years.

I thought originally to smoke only VAs to break it in. Many say, smoke whatever you like to break in, maybe not Aros and Lakelands though... LoL 😆

But Burley is suppose to burn cooler, so maybe it’s a good way to go about this on an uncoated chamber too. 🤔

Regardless which blend, I barely light a pipe while breaking it in, and just a few small sips and out it goes to cool down.

I’ll be extremely slow breaking this in, especially having nice aged briar like this.

Be well everyone! ❤️

Tabaccheria Corti took some really nice pics of the pipe. The lighting shows the grains a bit differently, and when I saw this pic, I was like wow. 😮
