Relaxing after a wonderful salad, French cut pork chops and green beans dinner with a small scoop of Dutch chocolate ice cream for dessert. I'm smoking year 2017 Savinelli Doblone d’Oro in a smooth straight brown early ‘60s Lane era “William Conrad” Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. Have a few bowls left of this tin. El Salvador Dali, neat, is my drink. Watching The Brass Legend starring Hugh O'Brian and Raymond Burr.

@Sweet Home Alabama Immaculate 1964 Volkswagen Beetle; if it wasn't for the registration I would still have identified the year as it has the larger front indicators and wide rear number plate light but still has the pre 1965 windows and turn handle to open the engine lid. 1965 models received enlarged windows all round and a press button engine lid catch.
Herbie the Love Bug is a 1963 Beetle; almost identical to the one in your photos apart from the original style of front indicators and rear licence plate light.
I've always loved classic Volkswagens and can usually tell the model year of Beetles without relying on UK registration plates that show the year the vehicle was registered!
Not everything is interchangeable from one year to the next, but most things are; The classic Johnny Cash song "One Piece at a time" would have been a lot easier in Wolfsburg than in Detroit!

Not mine, friend. Pretty cool car. We had a '68 when I was in HS.
@Sweet Home Alabama The 1968 Beetles had new fenders (mudguards / wings in the UK), bonnet, engine cover, door handles, front & rear valence, bigger bumpers, an external petrol cap and a fresh air ventilation system, while inside the fuel gauge was integrated into the speedometer.
All these added up to the largest redesign of the Beetle for 10 years apart from the increase in window area for 1965.
I told you I can identify most of the changes to the Beetle by year!

I had a 1966 and a 1967 in my younger years. The 1966 and I did a disappearing act for 2 years in the late 1970s. Went from Ohio to Texas, Texas to Mexico, Mexico to Louisiana, Louisiana to Florida, Florida back to Louisiana, then back to Ohio. Finally found out no warrants... rotf rotf rotf rotf rotf
@weezell Sounds like a good road trip - I bet you'll have seen loads of Beetles while you were in Mexico, where they were still made up to the year 2003!

Just had an exhilarating walk amongst the largest grove of giant sequoias in the world. Hart Tree > Sugar Bowl Trail loop in Sequoia/King's Canyon NP.

I was hankering for a bowl of ODF but I'm pretty pooped so I opted for a cigar so I could "set it and forget it". Smoking a Rocky Patel "Edge" Maduro torpedo and occasional bowls of Do-Si-Dos grown by 14er Holistics in Boulder CO to soothe my throbbing calves, feet and hamstrings.D71B8456-B9B3-4E61-8610-8EC4839659B1.jpegD76EBED5-C200-45E6-AE6D-2531CCD4DB90.jpegCF4975C8-79DA-489B-A4F4-3CD3E12000CF.jpeg
