Another too long post, but I feel a bit more comfortable sharing this with members of this thread than the general forum. It has a regular membership itself and I think we get each other

I'm semi-grounded. My hernia swelled up about a month ago, and saw the specialist. Apparently, my bowels shifted and the hernia was able to be pushed in, but in a different spot. He told me to take it easy until the swelling went down and the new position re-adjusted. He also said this is not common but happens. He's right and I'm taking it easy. Can do light range work, mostly indoors where our targets are on pulleys, and I've no trouble walking around the house but avoid steps as much as possible. So, semi-mobile. No pain unless I do something stupid. And the swelling has gone down considerably in the last two weeks.
So I've set up a smoking station in a small den/bedroom on the main floor, that also has a single bed in it for guests, that is wonderful to sit or recline and read on. There is a built in wall bookcase with vitals on it, and a study (not online) computer that is loaded with vids, study papers, music files, and can happily waste entire days there. It has immediate access to a small bathroom and is right next to the livingroom and kitchen, so I can happily ensconce myself there for days if I have to, have before, and probably will again.
I'm sire y'all have been there and done that at one time or another, eh? So, here's a snap of the smoking station and logic explained underneath the picture.

Seven miniature pipes, my favourite Falcon with four bowls, tools, and a diffuser to make the room stink pretty. An air filter and portable heater and the computer are on a dresser to the left and I can happily sit there or recline for hours at a time. No problem.
My journey into slow smoking has made these little bowl gems viable. I can now easily get at least 20-30 minutes from them, depending on the burning rate of the tobacco, and can actually double that if I pull out all of the stops I've learned so far. A small table for gunsmithing and other tasks complete the setup.
My morning smoke this morning was with the
McQueen Miniature Prospector, shown in the snapshot in the middle of the tray, on the stand. I got a full 52 minutes, which I've never been able to approach before, an excellent smoke as well, with
TobaccoBarn's Chocolate Pipe, a very nice cavendish based aromatic that is wonderfully suited to slow smoking techniques that I've learned so far.
When you're given a lemon, ya make lemonade, eh?
