Enjoyed four open face ham, cheddar cheese and two egg sandwiches for lunch with chocolate chip cookies for dessert. I'll be back on my diet now. I'm half way through this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Gold Star Cafe 645, neat, is my drink. Got two review blends from Ernie Q. on this cold and rainy day.

Dunhill Ready Rubbed in a new-to-me estate Peterson system spigot 312 outside in the drizzle.
This might be my favorite overall line from Peterson.
As far as the leaf goes, I opened it a few days ago and it has been one of the most confusing blends I've ever tried. I'm not sure I "get it", but there's something there that makes me keep trying...
The mechanics are excellent as far as moisture level, prep-ability, staying lit, etc. But it confuses the heck out of my palate; yet it seems to have hijacked it as I want to figure it out.
BTW, it was a SS gift a few years ago from Jay in Oregon, haven't seen him around in a bit...

Another too long post, but I feel a bit more comfortable sharing this with members of this thread than the general forum. It has a regular membership itself and I think we get each other :).

I'm semi-grounded. My hernia swelled up about a month ago, and saw the specialist. Apparently, my bowels shifted and the hernia was able to be pushed in, but in a different spot. He told me to take it easy until the swelling went down and the new position re-adjusted. He also said this is not common but happens. He's right and I'm taking it easy. Can do light range work, mostly indoors where our targets are on pulleys, and I've no trouble walking around the house but avoid steps as much as possible. So, semi-mobile. No pain unless I do something stupid. And the swelling has gone down considerably in the last two weeks.

So I've set up a smoking station in a small den/bedroom on the main floor, that also has a single bed in it for guests, that is wonderful to sit or recline and read on. There is a built in wall bookcase with vitals on it, and a study (not online) computer that is loaded with vids, study papers, music files, and can happily waste entire days there. It has immediate access to a small bathroom and is right next to the livingroom and kitchen, so I can happily ensconce myself there for days if I have to, have before, and probably will again.

I'm sire y'all have been there and done that at one time or another, eh? So, here's a snap of the smoking station and logic explained underneath the picture.

Seven miniature pipes, my favourite Falcon with four bowls, tools, and a diffuser to make the room stink pretty. An air filter and portable heater and the computer are on a dresser to the left and I can happily sit there or recline for hours at a time. No problem.

My journey into slow smoking has made these little bowl gems viable. I can now easily get at least 20-30 minutes from them, depending on the burning rate of the tobacco, and can actually double that if I pull out all of the stops I've learned so far. A small table for gunsmithing and other tasks complete the setup.

My morning smoke this morning was with the McQueen Miniature Prospector, shown in the snapshot in the middle of the tray, on the stand. I got a full 52 minutes, which I've never been able to approach before, an excellent smoke as well, with TobaccoBarn's Chocolate Pipe, a very nice cavendish based aromatic that is wonderfully suited to slow smoking techniques that I've learned so far.

When you're given a lemon, ya make lemonade, eh?

Rendezvous at my buddy's house before we head to the desert for some fun. While I wait for him to finish getting ready I'm enjoying some CS Baker Street loaded in my Canadian Club.

We have some real desert in and around Cache Creek in BC, part of the Sonoran (?) either Washington, Idaho or Wyoming . . . . I know nothing about geography so don't know what I'm talking about.

There are rattlesnakes there. I've always wanted to take part in a Rattlesnake Rodeo. I think that'd be the ultimate desert fun. Know anything about them? Do favour us with a few desert pics, eh?

It’s my first time smoking it. I’m not big into aromatics, my thoughts on it would be, well glad I tried it. It smells good in the tin. Some flavor is lost while smoking but smells pleasant. Im about 3/4 the way through a small bowl of it.

Guess the extent of my aromatic experience is very limited with Tombigbee being about the pinnacle of my aromatic smoking enjoyment. (I smoked very few aromatics)

But don’t let my thoughts cloud your pallet.
I have never been paid for my strong mind, but merely my strong back.

If you have a suggestion of a great aromatic to try, I’d love to hear it and try one.
I love Tombigbee! I like a lot of Boswell’s aromatic blends. I have been enjoying Cupcake frequently. It’s not my favorite but it is a mild vanilla blend and some of the natural tobacco comes through.
