Good day all! Started with Carter Hall in an Upshall A half-bent Freehand with plateau rim and stem port with hex saddle eighth-bent stem (replacing the churchwarden stem). Next up is a tryout of KBV Acadian Flek ("Virginia/Perique Broken Flake") in a small Upshall sandblast Bulldog with smooth rim and hex shank with matching saddle stem size 3-4.
 
I have heard that Balandis makes cheap pipes, which are as good as some of the costlier brands. To find out I ordered a couple of pipes which arrived today.

I am quite impressed with this Oak Wood Author. Will post a picture of the close up of the pipe later. Smokes beautifully!

I am not extremely elated on the aesthetics of other one - The sandblasted briar. however given the price it is more than OK. Interestingly they have also sandblasted the inside.
