naan that was simply scrumptious!
Sorry to digress

I grew up in multicultural Malaysia and Indian cuisine was a staple.

A favourite b’fast was roti Chani - flaky bread, cooked on a griddle with dhal (spiced lentil sauce)
On Saturday mornings my brother and I would walk 20mins to the Indian restaurant to buy a piece of roti and dhal for M’sian 50cents. That was a good 60 years ago.

On a recent trip to Kuala Lumpur, I had roti for b’fast - M’sian ringgit $5 (USD $1.20) for roti plus 3 sauces (Dhal, chicken curry and fish curry) plus a cup of very good coffee.
Simple pleasures.

Good to know inflation has not impacted Malaysia that much in 6 decades

Younger son's college graduation today. Too busy for anything else. Jason's Deli beefeater. Our town has pretty good one. Been to other town where the meat sucked

Forgot to take a photo. My father's birthday is today so I made his favorite. Fried perch with sides of baked beans cooked with leftover brisket and some homemade Mac & cheese.
