Igloo... Great stash! I've got nothing even close, maybe 12 kinds and about 2 lbs total.

Okay that's it no more PAD for awhile... it's time for me to start working on my TAD.

some of you guys have treasure chests of tobacco! pretty wild. It'll be a bit before I take on any serious inventory while I get this "preference" thing sorted out.

I find myself wondering what the stash would look like for some if what had been used was represented in the pictures also. :) This is what I've started, but as jayh mentioned preferences worked out more will come!

LOL, yes there is one. But luckily she doesn't mind. And that is a real don't mind, not a " I don't mind, but really do", that much I have learned how to tell the difference.

I finally have got myself enough of a stash to feel worthy of being in this thread... ;-)

Sorry about the blur, didn't realize until I'd already put everything away. From left to right:

  • Peter Stokkebye Black Currant Cavendish[/*]
  • Mac Baren HH Vintage Syrian[/*]
  • CAO Eileen's Dream[/*]
  • Dan Tobacco Blue Note[/*]
  • McClelland Frog Morton on the Town[/*]
  • Lane 1Q (in the humidor)[/*]
  • McClelland Colombian Mocha[/*]
  • Mac Baren Plumcake[/*]

I estimate that I will expire before all this is gone... oh no!

I'll wager that you'll decide you need more before you expire. Sometimes one's demise is the only cure for TAD.

So its been 2-3 months in not smoking a pipe and i recently checked my stash. In my Penzance mason jar i've noticed the glass is getting foggy; it looks like some kind of white haze. Im guessing the tobacco is aging or emitting some kinda moisture to get out of the jar.
What is it? (i.e. the foggy white haze)

shotokun,
What you're seeing is probably condensation. Bulk Penzance is usually a little too moist when first opened. I normally cut the bag open, check the RH and let it sit overnight. If it's still too moist I pull the tray out and reverse it before returning it to the bag. It may take a few days to reach the right level.
I'd advise opening the jar and checking the moisture level before you get mold developing, Penzance is way too hard to find right now to let it go bad. You may need to dry it out. I'd recommend checking the moisture level of all Esoterica blends before sealing them in glass, they tend to be on the damp side.

I don't have a camera, so I can only describe my cellar.

Currently, there are 218 blends, that is 98.1 kg of tobacco

in 969 containers - mostly tins. At my current smoking rate

this is good for 22 years and 4 months of daily smoking.

Fred,

That is amazing. I have only just begun, but at MY current rate of smoking (2-3 per WEEK), my stash should last me well over a year from now. Of course, by that point, I'll have had more TAD attacks, so I'll be set for a good long while...

Thanks guys. Likely you've guessed that I've been at this for

awhile. Years ago, I discovered that I enjoy smoking aged blends...

Then with the prospect of diminishing availability and increasing

prices, it seemed a good idea to take the advise of another and start

to cellar like a squirrel getting ready for the next ice age. One thing

leads to another....
