If anyone out there has or knows anyone that would be interested in parting with a Kaywoodie Birdseye Grain in great condition I would be very interested. I know they’re rare as hen’s teeth but it’s the one K that keeps evading me, in fact I’ve never seen one for sale in the three years I’ve been looking. 🙏

A few, I’ve sold 4 or 5 over the years. I still have my KW all briar though. I never smoke it, it’s like chewing on a popsicle stick.
It is a very different texture and feeling when you’re used to vulcanite but I just balance mine and try to get as little moisture as possible on it. The meer lining gives it a nice dry and cool smoke actually.

I am smoking this 1940s Kaywoodie handmade for a second day and wanted to likely sell it but I can not do it.I own it for a few years but never smoked it much.It is about the size of my Savinelli 320 -bowl is a little bigger but inside diameter is the same.. It is not as heavy as it looks like ..Decent clencher20230723_112625_HDR.jpg20230723_112545_HDR.jpg smoking both side by side and Sav.320 can't compare with flavors I am getting from this Kaywoodie..wooow.Both pipes has less than 5 bowls smoked. It is something special about an old briar..

Nice Handmade Kaywoodie! How does it smoke?mine taste very special..i have no idea why-old wood,Algerian briar?the only problem on mine is very narrow hole in a bit so even small dia. pipecleaner can almost not make it through..I may drill a wider hole but kinda want to keep it original in this over 80 years old pipe..It smokes great even with a narrow bit hole

I have several pipes with that problem, it’s amazing how many pipe makers didn’t consider this issue when making the bits but like you I want to keep them original wherever possible. Have you tried Falcon cleaners, they’re the strongest for their width I’ve found so far and are my main cleaner these days.

I came across 2 Kaywoodie pipes today. Both are All Briar with briar stems. Stems are a bit worn, but no teeth marks. One is a 51s shape & the other is a 98b. I was believe that they are from 1955. I was hoping somebody could give me more info on their value?
