Not to my knowledge, I was lucky with this one as I believe the stems tended to get a bit chewed up, I’ve only seen a couple show up at auction but not in this condition. That all briar’s stem is very lovely. Were there any other companies that did this?
I have a Rossi all briar from the twenties. One of the English carvers currently produces briar stemmed pipes. His name escapes me at the moment. That all briar’s stem is very lovely. Were there any other companies that did this?
When did you do that?I have one. I also got Bill to reproduce them for the modern market since everyone was collecting them. They are great.
A few, I’ve sold 4 or 5 over the years. I still have my KW all briar though. I never smoke it, it’s like chewing on a popsicle stick. That all briar’s stem is very lovely. Were there any other companies that did this?
Yeah I figure it will either be a collectible piece or smoked by non-clenchers.A few, I’ve sold 4 or 5 over the years. I still have my KW all briar though. I never smoke it, it’s like chewing on a popsicle stick.
It is a very different texture and feeling when you’re used to vulcanite but I just balance mine and try to get as little moisture as possible on it. The meer lining gives it a nice dry and cool smoke actually.A few, I’ve sold 4 or 5 over the years. I still have my KW all briar though. I never smoke it, it’s like chewing on a popsicle stick.

Here is an early one from the forties release.
I have several pipes with that problem, it’s amazing how many pipe makers didn’t consider this issue when making the bits but like you I want to keep them original wherever possible. Have you tried Falcon cleaners, they’re the strongest for their width I’ve found so far and are my main cleaner these days.Nice Handmade Kaywoodie! How does it smoke?mine taste very special..i have no idea why-old wood,Algerian briar?the only problem on mine is very narrow hole in a bit so even small dia. pipecleaner can almost not make it through..I may drill a wider hole but kinda want to keep it original in this over 80 years old pipe..It smokes great even with a narrow bit hole
