I'm going to dress mine up a bit before it hits the block. Waxed and polished with a black stem it may do even better.xrundog, Maybe lightning will strike the same spot twice...
Between a better looking pipe and the better quality of the photos you take, you may well do better. Here is hoping the losing bidders are still looking for this pipe.I'm going to dress mine up a bit before it hits the block. Waxed and polished with a black stem it may do even better.
Thanks for the encouragement! I've been working on taking better photos.Between a better looking pipe and the better quality of the photos you take, you may well do better. Here is hoping the losing bidders are still looking for this pipe.
It certainly qualifies as a crazy description! Talk about over reaming!Does this qualify as crazy bidding?
I appreciate that. But I suspect it will go well beyond what I want to pay.xrundog, I won't compete with you for that Heritage. It is the best I have seen, too, but I am chasing one of my white whales at the moment.
Heritage pipes were Kaywoodie's answer to Dunhill. According to one of their brochures, Heritage pipes were made from "briar burls seasoned and cured for up to 8 months," with only "one briar bowl in over 300 selected to bear the Heritage name." "Heritage stems are custom fitted with the finest hand finished Para Rubber stems. Mouthpieces are wafer thin and concave."
I didn't even read the description...just looked at the pictures, so credit to the seller for being honest. He says the button was reshaped. As in...CUT and reshaped. That's why it looks a tad off. Pretty good job really. That's hard to do right.
