Its not a big deal and you will be a hero to your wife. Its way easier and safer for us to have a in and out procedure than them having surgery. Most guys struggle with the same thoughts but when you get down to the facts its a no brainer.

As a member of that club, there is a lot to think about before you get the procedure done, but the procedure itself is relatively quick. Has one of your kids ever hit you down there? That's what it feels like for a bit.

The internet makes everything overblown, but the rate of 'regeneration' of the vas is like 1:2500 - 1:3000. Most 'failures' occur within the first few months before you get the 'all clear' from the doctor.

It is, however a very personal decision. Good luck with whatever you decide.

This is personal guys, so bear with me here.
This has nothing to do with the pipe gentlemen, but I am looking for your guidance and advice. I am scheduled for a vasectomy on Monday. I was good and comfortable with the idea up until now. It's not the "no more kids" thing that is bothering me. I have 2, and am not planning on anymore. It's the idea of being sterile that is starting to bother me. It doesn't seem "natural" if that makes any sense. I'm afraid I'll feel like less of a man. Maybe I'm being irrational and just getting cold feet, I don't know. The whole thing feels wrong now, and im not sure if I'm just being rediculous at this point. What are some of your opinions on the matter?
Why not whenever you want to dip your wicket you just beat off to porn instead...seams simple, costless, and you don't lose your manhood. You could also buy your wife one of those thingamabobs to use; afterwards, your real one isn't going to be much different than a fake one anyway (just being realistic is all).

Had to go back to what I wrote above and the editing timed out...this is what I wanted to say in full

I know two men that have had one; both real men (not some pansies) and even though to this day they'll say something like 'it wasn't that bad' or 'I've done worse things' BOTH of these men changed aftwards...both became more inward, less talkative--almost like geeky kids that hang out in their bedrooms all the time. Everyone, including their wives noticed it. Not to say that is the reaction all men have, but for the only two men I know that have had that proceedure and for both of them to have responded in the same way, I know I wouldn't get one having seen it (don't matter to me anyway, I'm too old and my wife can't birth calves anymore ;))

By the way, I don't want to give you the impression that these men lost their 'manlihood' in anyway, because they didn't (we are all farmers and I know them very well), but they did emotionally react to the procedure afterwards for whatever reason.

I can definately understand why. Once a bull, now a steer.

Been there, done that. Pretty painful by my experience, couldn't wear jeans for about two weeks. We took her for a "test drive" the day after. Turns out that was not a good decision. Pretty painful at the moment of impact.

Three months later, the wife had to get a partial hysterectomy....so moot.

I vowed never to let anyone with a scalpel in their hand get that close to my nether regions again....

Two weeks later though, back to normal operations. Wow, guess that was now about 25 years ago...

I’m laughing at some of these comments. I think some of these guys think that they chop your boys off. Y’all do know that you keep all your junk right? It’s not like neutering a damn dog. You still make testosterone and everything. The swimmers just get a roadblock is all.

2 kids. 3 year old boy and a 7 month old girl
I meant that as a question to yourself, I guess. So...
Is that enough? Do you think you'll ever want more?
2 quality lives to replace your wife and yourself is enough for me, but I'm not you.
You could always put it off but keep thinking about it. Kinda sounds like the real decision is, "Do I want one more, or not?".

Im calling B.S. i think most of the comments on not a man, less agressive or impotent, nerdy or some way shy or timid is by guys that either haven't had it done or using it as an excuse to avoid it. I still farm, work on cars, weld, and split 6 chords of wood by hand every year. Along with drink, smoke, hunt and fish and be a loving husband and father. I also get to plow my wifes field worry free 3 to 4 time a week.

For me, the pain was an ache, like when the chain slips on your bike and you rack your nuts on the bar. I had the procedure on a Friday and was back to work on Monday after a weekend of sitting around doing nothing. I'm retired from an electric utility and I was on "light duty" for a few days....riding along in the truck with a co-worker.

I got mine done about 15 years ago. I have no regrets about it at all. You'll be sore for a couple of days, but in the long run, it's the responsible thing to do.

Backing out after you have already agreed to it is going to be really rough on you two. Men all over everywhere do it, and it can be reversed right?

I'd never have agreed to it to begin with. I cut enough animals that I'd have an impossible time get over then mental hump.

Sex slows down enough when you get a little older, so you can work around the fertile times. And if you get a bonus child, then so be it.

good luck man!
