    Happy Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend !!

Thanks juozapas; right back atcha! Winnipeg got socked with a winter storm yesterday. There's an inch of snow on the ground and a -7(19f) windchill. While the snow will probably be gone in a few days, I likely won't be smoking any pipes this weekend.

    Halflings Leaf

@vinvin PM member pipeinhand for details. Also, welcome fellow Canadian! :)

    Halflings Leaf

I just received my 4oz "re-up" of Halfling's Leaf. Man...it smells amazing. As I said above, this blend gets nothing but compliments when I smoke it around people. I'm seriously considering keeping this as the sole aromatic in my collection. And kudos to Jack Lee Blends - my order went from...

    The After Midnight Club

Driving home from a friends house, my buddy and I are shooting the shit and enjoying the night. We were thinking about retiring to my porch for a late night pipe. Sitting at a stop light, the light changes and there's a sudden loud "BANG!" on the side of the car, and we're doused in icy cold...

Dedicated Hunting Thread - Pictures & Discussion

Now, it may just be a coincidence, but when I was a teen I did a lot of bow hunting. My folks heated their house with 16 cords of wood a year, and I did most of the splitting. 100% agree. It was drilled into me from an early age even before I went hunting, that respect for nature and the...

    Your Thoughts on Brigham Pipes

I count it as a lucky score. The stem was badly oxidized, the filter was still in the pipe, there was a massive amount of cake, AND some rank tobacco still at the bottom of the bowl. The $25 ask was quickly negotiated to "$10 and you don't have to put back in your display case." They're...

Bucks that size are pretty rare here too...pretty much my "once in a life time" deer. I'm not complaining, mind you! :P

Dedicated Hunting Thread - Pictures & Discussion

We go hunting out at my grandparent's old homestead in western Manitoba. They have a 1/4 section, the remaining 3/4s of the section is designated as a wildlife corridor which creates a very favourable habitat for deer. They can go out, eat oats, alfalfa, wheat, corn and then hide out in the...

The Canadian Edition Box Pass - Round 1

I hope to meet the requirements by the next box pass, so Manitoba shall represent! :-)

    Brigham Stem Oxidation Aluminum Shank

I have used oxyclean, magic eraser and micromesh with great results. The micromesh pads go from 1500 to 12000, used in progressing you'll go from rough to glass smooth. I kept them wet to help reduce heat and clean off the rubber...it is messy, so have a rag nearby to wipe down the pipe and your...

    Your Thoughts on Brigham Pipes

Apparently another driving force that sent them to Italy was their rusticating workers were retiring, and there wasn't enough talented or interested work force here. Most of the workers were from Italy, so they figured "Why not?". Happened to save them a few bucks too. The bulldog on the left...

    Outdoor smokers

Yup, outdoor smoker here. My girlfriend is an ex cigarette smoker, and while she (bemusedly) accepts my late in life pipe smoking habit, she's asked that I smoke outdoors. I live in the middle of Canada, so that means very little to no smoking from November to March, except for those rare warm...

My smoking spot for the past week

@Adam Ha! No way. It's bear country (over 900 of them in the park) so the campground requires you to have a "hard sided vehicle" for food storage. It was only 2 of us, so we had an entire Ford Escape to fill with gear; it was very much luxury camping. We have a more compact load out for canoe...

My smoking spot for the past week

@Lawrence, no worries...proper libations were available! @jsiddle Thanks! I left the DSLR at home and brought along the nice and compact Nikon Coolpix s6300 By popular request, here's a few more. I haven't really had time to go through all the pics, but here's the highlights. Our humble...

    Halflings Leaf

I second zanthal, I love this blend. And so do the people around me :-) Whenever I take my pipe out on the town, I load it with Halfling's Leaf and get nothing but compliments. And one threat - "Whatever you do, don't stop puffing. Ha Ha...no, seriously, I mean it." :)

My smoking spot for the past week

Moon Lake campground in Riding Mountain National Park. Smoking McClelland's "Old Dog" in a MM corn cob. The best part about fall camping is that there was only one other person in the campground with us. Very quiet and peaceful.

By Request, The Restoration Of My Masterson Freehand.

Thanks Shawn! I knew I had to have it once I saw the shape and luckily there wasn't any competition on the auction so I got for a steal. Here's a picture that shows off the finish a little more, it's a gorgeous pipe. Google image search shows there's been a couple Mastersen's with a similar...

    The After Midnight Club

Well, now I feel like part of an exclusive club. I'm working a late night content deployment to spare my east coast team mates. Of course, an important server isn't working and I'm killing time while waiting for it to come back. I do wish I was able to smoke a pipe while all of this is going on...
