Happy Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend !!
Thanks juozapas; right back atcha! Winnipeg got socked with a winter storm yesterday. There's an inch of snow on the ground and a -7(19f) windchill. While the snow will probably be gone in a few days, I likely won't be smoking any pipes this weekend.- cgrd

I count it as a lucky score. The stem was badly oxidized, the filter was still in the pipe, there was a massive amount of cake, AND some rank tobacco still at the bottom of the bowl. The $25 ask was quickly negotiated to "$10 and you don't have to put back in your display case." They're...- cgrd

Brigham Stem Oxidation Aluminum Shank
I have used oxyclean, magic eraser and micromesh with great results. The micromesh pads go from 1500 to 12000, used in progressing you'll go from rough to glass smooth. Apparently another driving force that sent them to Italy was their rusticating workers were retiring, and there wasn't enough talented or interested work force here. Outdoor smokers
Yup, outdoor smoker here. My girlfriend is an ex cigarette smoker, and while she (bemusedly) accepts my late in life pipe smoking habit, she's asked that I smoke outdoors. @Adam Ha! No way. It's bear country (over 900 of them in the park) so the campground requires you to have a "hard sided vehicle" for food storage. It was only 2 of us, so we had an entire Ford Escape to fill with gear; it was very much luxury camping. We have a more compact load out for canoe...- cgrd

Moon Lake campground in Riding Mountain National Park. Smoking McClelland's "Old Dog" in a MM corn cob. The best part about fall camping is that there was only one other person in the campground with us. Very quiet and peaceful.- cgrd
