    My most recent PAD.

That is a very nice selection of pipes. I especially like the rustication on the Brebbia. I have a few Savinellis and they are all good smokers. The Vermillion bulldog looks like a Cumberland stem to me, although lighter in color than most I have seen. It will be interesting to see what others...

    Stiff Pipes

Hey Papipeguy, your experience and reaction to the brylon pipe reflects mine in every single way, except I threw mine in a drawer to be forgotten and you put it on a pipe rack as a reminder. I hope my comment was not taken in the wrong way; it was just an attempt at humor. On reflection...

    Stiff Pipes

"If you're going to smoke, you might as well make it count". Who wrote the ad copy? As mentioned previously, they claim it's the first plastic pipe molded in one piece. The Pipe and Venturi pipes were plastic with a pyrolytic graphite liner (material used to line pipes in nuclear reactors)...

    Opened Tin?

This B&M knows what customer service is all about. You had the right attitude and they made it right. I think they showed that they deserve your continued patronage. Enjoy both tins.

    This horn is truly beautiful

This a beautiful example of the sculptural aspects of pipes. Everything on this pipe; the grain, the shape of the pipe and stem and the color of the stain is in perfect harmony. This maker is both a craftsman and an artist. If you wanted to show somebody the finer aspects of grain in a pipe...

    Restoration Complete on Dunhill Tanshell

Great job; it came out beautiful. Think of all the years and bowls of tobacco it took to get that color.

My first bamboo pipe - Jody Davis

One more thing, Harris; from what I've seen, the bamboo will darken nicely with use and age. Somebody mentioned using clarinet bore oil to preserve the bamboo and help prevent cracking and splitting. Amazon has it, ranging from a mineral oil to propretary blends. Has anybody on the forum used it?

Rec'd My Estate Gresham Giant - Need Help

Nice looking Canadian. I see online that it's a Comoy second. Walker Briar Works is very highly recommended. I have some pipes I am going to send to him for stem replacement. He does what he calls a "no-scuff" stem replacement, which appeals to me. He charges $55 for a complete restoration...

My first bamboo pipe - Jody Davis

Beautiful pipe, Harris. I like bamboo stems, although I don't have any. Some that I have seen miss the mark. This pipe is beautifully designed and the color of the stain is a perfect match. How does the balance feel compared to a briar shanked pipe? Regarding the beading; I have seen that on...

    Bing Crosby Pipe shape?

I read years ago that Bing's pipe favorite shape was a Merchant Service Special. It was also mentioned in another forum as Bing's favorite back in March of 2010. One was sold on Ebay back in August and the proportions match those of the pipe Number 6 shows above that Ed Kolpin made.

I am definitely in the throes of RAD PAD

Beautiful pipe Cigarmaster; love the blast and the spalted band. I, too like seeing just bare wood in the bowl. Looking at your pipe with that bare wood bowl, I am thinking how enjoyable it will be breaking it in. To put in my two cents about Canadians and Lovats; nobody mentioned that besides...

You have made a great start on your collection. I especially like the Bjarne. I'm sure that you will be enjoying these pipes for a long, long time.

    Need PAD Suggestions

That Pryme Tyme is a Charatan second in what Charatan calls the Gilpin shape. I bought one that shape years ago that is really a no name. All it says on it is "Made in London England" in the same spot where the one on Ebay says "Pryme Tyme", but I knew by the shape that Charatan made it. It's...

One hell of a Meer on ebay

Go to Ebay and put "Yanik meerschaum" in the search to see all of his pipes. Wow! He is in a league of his own.

Quick, let me get out my check book

He has a number of high end pipes for sale. If they are not his, I wonder where he got them all. I put it on my Watch list to see what happens, but I think I'll pass on bidding.
