Good or Bad to Keep Pipes in a Closed Box ???

The amount of moisture left in a pipe varies with the type of tobacco smoked and I am of the school of thought that pipes should be exposed to air, to let them dry out after smoking.

Building a Proper Pipe Rotation Need Advise

The advise given by everyone on the forum will be pretty well the same. As others said, get some cobs, either individually or a grab of 10 directly from Missouri Meerschaum to give you a start on a good size rotation of pipes. Estate pipes give you the best bang for the buck. You can get some...

Just Spied This Dunhill on Smokingpipes

It's a very nicely proportioned pipe. I really like the dark cumberland stems, especially when set off by a silver band like this one.

How Many of You Have a Pink Pipe?

Pink isn't my color, but that's a beautiful piece of briar and a nice shape. I think a green cumberland stem would be a great match.

    Change in Dunhills

In the past, Dunhill changed the black stain they used and took shortcuts with their stems. After strong negative reaction, they reverted back to the older methods. However, when I saw news of the change in Dunhill nomenclature, I had an uneasy feeling that it could be indicative of a downhill...

I was Smoking at the Park When...

Some of the distilleries in Scotland use geese instead of watchdogs. I guess you found out why they use them the hard way! Glad to hear you and your son are okay.

    The Taste of New Pipes

I always considered breaking in a brand new pipe one of the pleasures of pipe smoking. I've only had 3 pipes over the years that didn't break in well. I start breaking in a pipe with 1/4 bowls, concentrating on developing a good cake in the bottom of the bowl and gradually working up to a full bowl.

Chicago Pipe Show Shopping Spree (30 pics)

They are all very nice looking pipes. I especially like the Blue Riband, the Canadian and the Apple. The jacket looks good on you. Don't you have a Dunhill Dress? One with a silver band would be a great match with the jacket. Happy smoking!
