I love the classic shape and everything about it, but the price tag. The Cumberland stem is a perfect match and the silver just adds a ton of class to it.

I'd also seen that one and singled it out as the Dunhill I would like someday. But $600 buys a lot of tobacco, or 120 cobs :)

It's a very nicely proportioned pipe.

I really like the dark cumberland stems, especially when set off by a silver band like this one.

Yeah it's up there with many other Dunhills on my "If I ever come into some money" list. That is such a beautiful pipe. I love the well executed classics.

I suspect that the high Dunhill prices in the US are the result of someone else taking a piece of the pie. Maybe a US distributor. How else might it be explained that the Dunhills are so much less expensive in the UK? Does anyone know about this?

I didn't know they were that much less expensive in the UK. Whenever I am on a UK site, when I convert the euro to dollars, they're still pricey. What sites are you checking Foggy?

Whew that's a beauty! I really would like to have a birth year Dunhill sometime. Love the classic shape and the cumberland stem, really a nice match.

It would be a cold-hearted pipe smoker who didn't dream of owning that one. Pipes of those

general specifications, not classic and not Dunhill, might be seen as a bit small-bowled, and

maybe somewhat delicate. But that doesn't diminish the vision for me. This is the one I want

to find at a flea market for $15. Haw-haw. As they used to say in the Navy, "Dream on, sailor boy."

It's a beauty... and like Mike, I really dig that bevel. I have a pipe from El Cheapo Junque Pfeife and Sons Ltd with that sort of rim, but it might have been an accident.
