My first pipe kit project
The problems will come when you'll try to drill a block and have all the bores perfectly centered and at the right height.Shank needs a 3mm air bore and centerered/aligned bore for the tenon but at the same time needs to be perfectly plain to have a optimal conjunction between shank and stem... -

I think on the market the best price you can obtain compared to quality is looking at Stanwell.Most of them have beautiful briar and have a decent price due to the (perfect)machined production- pentangle
