    Comparing Blends

Yeah...what that guy said  In all fairness I try to liken the tobacco taste as it compares to food. When I smoke a good Virginia, some are tangy, some are a little earthy, some have what I like to call that "fresh baked bread" kinda thing. If it's an English, there's bitterness, woodsy...

Kendal Flake or Kendal Cream Flake

If memory serves me right kendal cream is a very nice smoke. Flavorful without being over powering with casing, but still a light hint of aromatic aroma and taste with quality tobaccos. Should be a fine introduction

    Strength of Burley

And that, children, is how Cosmic single handedly won the internet.

    What? McClelland Frog Morton gone!!

Boswells Northwoods is a bit pricey if youre buying any quantity of it but if memory serves me correctly its pretty close.

    Tell Me About Nordings

Got one that's a good smoker, a big unfinished free hand. Got another one that needs some tlc because I smoked a goopy aromatic in it but it's serviceable enough. For the money you paid it was a fair purchase

    What's In Your Tobacco Rotation?

GL Pease anything, one English and one Virginia. Throw a dart, they're all good. Hearth and home black house, captains Earles anything, and a mildly topped burley usually do the trick for me

    Black Frigate Has Docked

Cut it, break it, leave it whole and stuff it, there's no wrong way to enjoy it.

    Nightcap or 965?

Don't know that I've ever had 965. I love nightcap. Anyone want to trade me for some 965? I got lots of goodies I can get rid of.

    A few new Meers

I've been wanting a dragon claw meer for some time now and this isn't helping anything. There are days that I really don't like you people  I kid, I kid. Those are absolutely beautiful. Enjoy them in good health!

    Four Years Here, Thank You!

You joined the forum one year to the day before I got married. The wife and I are celebrating 3 years being married today. Smoke in good health and thank you! Cheers!

    First try at pipe smoking

Acknowledging that you packed too loose is a good step in the right direction. I struggled with this for a long time because I was given the advice "pack looser than you think you need to." This led to me packing too loose, which caused bad combustion, which led to me having to put flame to the...

Story of How the Wife and I Rescued a Dog

Thanks oldtoby. The pic of my wife manhandling him like a child proves that he's the biggest baby I've ever met. He's also super smart and was extremely easy to train. Very rarely do I have to be firm with him. Really the only thing he still struggles with is a little nibbling when he gets...

Story of How the Wife and I Rescued a Dog

Sorry if the pics are a little small but you can click to enlarge. I also figured you guys would rather look at my wife and the dog than my ugly ass mug.

Story of How the Wife and I Rescued a Dog

So when we got the house, the wife and I had talked about wanting to get a dog. After I got some cash together, I started looking at dog rescues in the area, and honestly, they really didn't have much. Then I started to talking to a guy that I work with who suggested I check out the rescue that...

    Show Off Your Wardens Here!

I've got an old Roma churchwarden, what would probably be considered a basket pipe that I got for Christmas one year that is a decent smoker. Unfortunately I don't have a pic handy cause it's up in the attic somewhere.

    The Tin Society May Box

I've been dicking with the idea of joining one of those subscription box services and this one looks hella cool. Thanks for sharing! This is the sort of thing that I will definitely have to try!

The Hype Behind Astley's No. 44

I have a few tins of this stuff stashed away from when it was pretty hard to find, and going through a drawer the other day I found an unopened tin of this stuff buried at the bottom and thought, "What the hell? I'll give it a shot and see if it is as good as everyone led me to believe it was."...

2015 MM Reverse Calabash Three Years Later

In all seriousness, I didn't realize these were a limited run kind of thing. That drops the appeal for me since I hate having to hunt for things like this and I already have plenty of cobs. They're still pretty cool though

    According tea(s) to tobacco(s)

Used to be a real heavy coffee drinker until it started to mess with my stomach. But needing my caffeine, tea and water are pretty much all I drink now. I do like a nice loose leaf green tea. Uptons is my favorite place to get tea from, I'm currently drinking some of their gunpowder green that...
