Movie battle: Animal House vs. Blazing Saddles

Blazing Saddles demonstrates a mature sense of sophistication that Animal House can't touch. Mell Brooks is clearly the Master of the Yiddish Western genre.

The Mail Come, The Mail Come, Charatans

Beautiful pieces. I especially like the first. I recently acquired a Canadian style 409. It is already a favorite.

    Post yer guitar pictures!

I thought it was a Gibson. Like I said, a true classic. Many of the great blues men of the past century performed their magic on that beauty.

    Post yer guitar pictures!

First is my old flat-pickin'guitar. She's an L SeriesYamaha with mahogany back and sides and a Sitka spruce top. We've been together since 1985 and I keep her at my office. This second guitar is a Taylor NS32. Nylon strings and beautiful tone. Also solid wood: Tropical mahogany with a Sitka...

Are cigarettes tobacco and pipe tobacco the same?

They both use tobacco, but that's where the similarity ends. Just as cigarette and pipe smokers tend to have very different personalities. One need only enjoy a good pipe tobacco in a great old briar to understand.

    Where Are You Aussielass?

She "corrected" me several months ago on a post about the Occupy Movement. The lady has spunk. I sure hope she returns to the fold.

    Pipe Lighters

Xikar Old Boy is my "go-to" lighter on a daily basis, but I was given an em corona that is truly beautiful. I use it as a Sunday lighter or on special occasions. Both companies put out superb products.

Looking for something out of the ordinary.

I have a Becker and Musico that, at first, seemed a bit too big. Now I love the thing.

Very nice pipes. I especially like the rustication and stem of the Krska. Truth be told, I've never heard of that maker. This is the reasonI started this thread and I hope others follow your lead. Thanks for sharing.

Pipe Pics by Country of Origin

We all know about Ireland's Peterson pipes and Italy's Savinelli, but I thought it would be interesting to share some photos of pipes from other places. Denmark seems a good place to start. I've got three in my collection. The first is a Turben Dansk, the second Is a Navigator and the last is a...

Post a Pic of Your Favorite Pipe

My answer to the question is, "whatever pipe I'm currently smoking". Still, one of my all time favorites is an Italian Brebbia that looks great and consistently offers a dry and hassle-free smoke.

    Lightning Strikes Twice in Florida

I went back to the antique shop where I found the English Cutty last week. The owner said there was another piece I might find interesting. She brought out a second pipe, obviously from the same set. It has the It has the same Anchor and Lion on the silver band as well as a very legible "b"...
