    Severe Pipe Smoking Warning

Great job on the garage/cave vent - you care. Just close the f@#$=&* living room window now, and you’re good!?

Zippo Pipe Lighter for the Winter

Same mechanicals on each. Neither will wear faster than the other. The different inserts are simply a matter of flame/lighter orientation. Winter, Summer, Spring, Fall - my Zippos preform just fine. Actually, they are better than butane lighters in cold weather. The wheel never seems to wear...

    Motorcycle Riders’ Thread - Continued

Late to this thread, but motorcycle enthusiasts here as well! My “current“ few: Triumph T-100, BMW RnineT Scrambler, Honda CRF250L

Why Prof. Einstein Smoked Pipe This Way?

No idea... How about the Freudian “sometimes a cigar is just a cigar...” In that, at that place and time, these were photographed in that state, and nothing more? Emphasizing, “no idea...”... Quite a detailed observation of pictures though I might add!

    Any Good Summer Blend Recommendations?

...strange enough, I am now smoking C&D Apricot with a healthy pour of Woodford Reserve...and it is unexpectedly a very good combo! I tend toward light English, Balkan, Orientals mostly, but do enjoy the occasional aromatic. Dug the apricot deep out of the cabinet tonight for some reason...??‍♂️

    Pipe Valet

I use these 4x8 inch stainless surgical trays... 2 for $12 on Amazon... Very handy.

    Any Good Summer Blend Recommendations?

I’ll throw out this combo: Peretti Tashkent & a tall Gin & Tonic... Heavenly (and not heavy) in summer!?

    Family Approved Indoor Smoking Blends?

...forgot to add... I’ve used a small ozone machine (+/- $80?) to completely eliminate ALL odors from any room or car. 10-15 minutes for a car or 12x15 room is all it takes. DO NOT be in the space when running (nor pets or plants). Yes, it’s that effective. Smells like the room was entirely...

    Family Approved Indoor Smoking Blends?

A window exhaust fan to create negative pressure in the room works wonders to remove smoke/smell...regardless of what blend you smoke (assuming you have a window in the room). Worth a try - works great for me in my basement smoking room. I find little effect on heating/cooling in the room fwiw...

    Re-Purposed For Pipe Stuff

Pretty awesome cabinet! Hardly ugly, and obvious you know your way around wood. Simple is fine, but this is VERY nicely done! Love it...?

    Re-Purposed For Pipe Stuff

Posted previously, somewhere here... Large MB tin, shaved Champagne cork ashtray...?

    Infinity Jars

Not a high volume smoker here, but I like what I like, and it cover the spectrum. Love sampling “down the rabbit hole” of blends recommended as “if you like x, try y”. A few specs less than half a bowl just gets pitched, unless I liked it and ordered more - then the remains would join his...

    Corncob vs Hardwood

I have and use both. I actually sanded down a MM hardwood, and painted (the OUTSIDE!) with black bed liner for a tough, rustic beater pipe. Even buffed up the ferrule to silver...?

    Why Smoke A Pipe?

Mostly, for me, it’s “dessert”...Sometimes, it’s my evening drive home. After dinner, a nice pour of “brown water”, and a bowl. Love the various flavors of all the varieties of pipe tobacco, and I do enjoy all of the various genres of pipe tobacco blends, and finding new ones... This is...

Room Notes And Self Quarantine: The Learning Curve

    All About J.L. Peretti

Peretti has some great, original blends! I’m partial to Royal and Tashkent - I really like their Balkans & Oriental blends. Give them a try, as I see you have some Burley, VaPer, and Va‘s covered...

    Zippo

Whoa... What the hell is that used for!? Looks like a full on kerosene heater!?

    My New Falcon

I’m no Falcon expert or fanboy, but I have a couple stems, and a few bowls to interchange. Use the dry rings (made/cut from standard pipe cleaners). The straight Falcons have no means to absorb moisture BUT for the dry rings. One wrong head move creates a tobacco juice slurpy without the...

    Manual Transmissions

Best I can gather, the last carburetor cars in the US were 1989-1991 time frame... Plenty of motorcycles still use them, but they too are a smaller and smaller percentage (in the US). Worldwide, I believe a carb’d motorcycle is actually the most prevalent!
