Re-Purposed For Pipe Stuff

Really like the cigarbox pipe stand above, nicely done!

Took some pieces of scrap wood I had left over and repurposed them into a simple and ugly... I mean rustic... cabinet for pipe stuff.



Also the ashtrays are metal restaurant cigarette ashtrays that I got from a bartender friend. I cut a champagne cork in half and hot snotted the halves in place, works great now for pipes.

Pretty awesome cabinet! Hardly ugly, and obvious you know your way around wood. Simple is fine, but this is VERY nicely done! Love it...?

Short piece of rebar that I forged into a tamper for deep bowls. I usually use horseshoe nails (another repurposed item) for shallower bowls.

I've been looking at Essential Craftsmans forging videos on YouTube one day when I have the time and space required I want to try my hands at it.

No reason not too. Even as a hobby, it’s a handy skill. A coal forge wouldn’t be too expensive to build, and a piece of railroad track will work as an anvil, even though it isn’t ideal. I started out about twenty years ago with a paint can forge I built (still have it somewhere) and a piece of railroad track. When I got serious about it, I built/purchased more appropriate equipment.
