Visiting the James Upshall Factory last week

Too bad it's just a pipe dream - that would be lovely.

President of L.J. Peretti, Stephen Willett on Radio Show of 4/12/2016

It's a mix. I like the guys. Mr. Willet is a great guy and when I was in college, he's one of the guys who helped me out when I started. There was Gloucester St. Cigar back then and closer to where I went to school but I'd always make the hike down to Peretti's - that's where the real stuff...

Do I dislike smoking or my tobacco?

It has been a long time since I've thought of Bone - nice avatar. Go to the tobacco shop and check stuff out. Maybe you like it, maybe you don't. Seems like you're interested, so, worth a shot, yeah?

    Peterson Price Increase

I guess it doesn't matter to me. If presented the choice I'd save the hundo and get the Stanwell, but to be fair I now no longer own any of either brand.

    Peterson Price Increase

warren, he's saying that $200 petes smoke as good as $100 Stanwells, not that the Stanwells don't smoke well :) I've personally found Stanwell to smoke better, but Peterson certainly has the better classic look and style to my personal taste.

    Peterson Price Increase

They're fine $60 pipes. They're pushing it at $100. Beyond that is strange to me. Other factory pipes smoke better in my experience. They have a great brand, their pipes look like the pipes everyone thinks of when they think pipe whether they smoke or not, they're the only Irish pipe company...

    Cleaning Acrylic?

Huh. Good to know. If daveinlax is ok with it, it's good for me for sure, I just could have sworn people say it can get so brittle it can shatter with enough exposure to alcohol.

23 Minute Conversation w/Jess Chonowitsch (never seen before today)

Dang and it cuts off just as he gets to Italians. Keep 'em coming!

    The Dunhill Crosbys

Great collection there - I'm interested to hear why some smoke better than others. I admit I'm not a Dunhill guy, I lean more Italian, but my thought has always been that the wood a company uses is pretty much the same across all grades outside of grain, and then after that it comes down to...

    Cleaning Acrylic?

My understanding is that you aren't supposed to use alcohol on acrylic as it can ruin it and cause it to crack and shatter. So, what do you all use for cleaning your acrylic stems?

Condor Lovers Answer To The Easter Egg!

    St. Bruno has landed

I got a can of the flake today. It's what it says on the tin, it's St. Bruno. It's quite good. I do seem to recall some folks on here getting upset about rusty ODF tins - there's an insert in the St Bruno tin that explains that due to historic purity laws, vinegar is still used as a...

California Raised the Age Limit to 21

RIP the Occidental in San Francisco, the last bastion for a scotch and a smoke in that godforsaken city, I guess.
