    Advice Needed On Aromatics

Forget those goopy blends. They are cased with PG and darn near cannot be dried - lots of tongue bite. Get a quality blend like Peterson University flake that has a flavoring, but is not cased. Smokes and dries like a regular tobacco, but has a subtle plum topping.

Small Town Tobacconists Are (Can Be?)Great!

Last weekend some friends and I visited a real gem over in Tampa, Edward's Pipe & Cigar Shop. Met Joe, the weekend Pipe-shop pro early Saturday am. Joe took great care of us, hand mixing a custom Va-Per blend with a little sumthin' extra thrown in for good measure. Unbelievable stuff! Also...

How Do You Like John Cotton's Double Pressed Blends?

    Does A Full VaPer Exist?

Yeah, from what I've read, Salty Dogs looks to be just the ticket! Damn hard to find, though! I'll run that one down as soon as I fine it in stock. Good suggestion there, Embers!

    Does A Full VaPer Exist?

I've learned to appreciate good Virginias and especially, VaPers over the last two years, but notice that most are much lighter in flavor than my beloved English and Oriental blends. That begs the question - is there such thing as a full flavored and stronger body VaPer? In addition to a full...

    Any VaPer Like McClelland 2015?

Being that this is perhaps one the finest VaPers known to pipe enthusiasts - IMHO, I am looking to see if anything out there is as flavorful, forgiving, smooth, easy to light and keep lit, totally bite resistant and all around tasty. So, what VaPers or just Va's might be worthy of comparison?

    Pipe Tobacco Retailer In Florida

Florida had a lot of great pipe shops in years past. The levy of 85% state tax on pipe tobacco has brought about the demise of all but a few good shops and those left actually are primarily cigar shops. Those mentioned previously are good places to visit and good people. Interestingly, while...

Starting A Collection/ Returning to Pipe Smoking - Tons of Questions for Vetrens!

Look at nice, low cost estates from good sources. Also, look at Dr. Grabow pipes. Estate Grabows are prefereble at times, as they often have screw on tennons and some are adjustomatics. I have several old Grabows and some are among my favorites. Most old ones smoke really well and have...

    H & H White Knight

Back to White Knight after some 6-7 months. BROBS and Embers found a bit of baking soda and some chemical aftertaste. I did notice a slight bit of that as well, so it went to the back of pack. Just recently, I ran across that lonely tin, packed a bowl and fired up. Wow - the rest time has...

Thoughts On A Tobacco / Herb Grinder

I saw Herb Grinders mentioned as used for grinding pipe tobacco flakes, coins, etc and am interested. Like to see what others think about how they work. Anyone here use one? Others - would you use a grinder?

A Truly Different Kind Of English?

Well, I got into a jar of some old Nightcap from 2012 that has mellowed considerably. So much so that the Latakia was actually subtle, but pleasant in a more background role. Very smooth and clean. Another bowl enjoyed was ASTB from '14 - very easy and cool burning as well. Age does wonders...

    Golden Days of Yore Question

Every kind of pipe tobacco that people used to be able to buy is better than the resurrected formulas. And you can believe everything you read on the internet, too!
