Who Has Tried "Hoover Mix" ?

There was thread on here not too long ago about P&C's "Best of the Rest" blend, which is basically the same thing. All who tried it said it was pretty good.

    Appalling - But Not Unexpected

I remember Penn & Teller's "Bullshit" did an episode on PETA. In addition to the stuff previous posters commented on, they discovered that the VP of PETA's HQ in Virginia is a diabetic and requires insulin injections, which were developed through testing on animals. Penn & Teller sent her a...

    Best and Worst Pipes

I have a few that would qualify for "best pipe," a few Savinellis and the MacQueen Wizard is a favorite. My worst however, is a Dr. Grabow Savoy. From the fit and finish (draft hole was so severely misdrilled, I wonder if QA called in sick that day), to the "smokability." It smokes hotter than...

Some ?s from a new guy

A Missouri Meerschaum Corn Cob pipe would work well for that situation. They are well made and cost around $10.

Free Pipe Tobacco Sample - Altadis

They must be handing out parkas in Hell right now. I came home this evening and went out to the mailbox and to my surprise, a large white envelope with what felt like a tuna can inside. Much to my surprise it turned out to be a tin from Altadis! They sent me a tin of "Blend No.5" a nice smelling...

    C&D Blockade Runner

If you like Blockade Runner, give Black Frigate a try too. It's easily in the top 3 of my all time favorite blends.

    Peter Stokkebye's Nougat PS-24

I agree! I'm not a big fan of aromatics, but the ones I've tried from Stokkebye have been great!

    Peter Stokkebye's Nougat PS-24

I actually prefer Peter Stokkebye's bulk blends to Lane Limited. My current favorite Stokkebye blend is "Black Dansk". Two months ago I received a sample of "Golden Dansk" from Pipesandcigars.com. I thought it was great, but after I compared the tobacco in the pouch to the picture online (I...

Free Pipe Tobacco Sample - Altadis

If you think that's bad, I'm going on 19 months...nothing. I filled out the form again about 4 months ago, but I noticed it says multiple requests will be discarded. Either way, I've given up on them ever sending me a sample. They seem to be hit or miss about it. For a short period of time a...

    Xikar lighter

I meant to post this earlier. Here is an excellent video comparing the Xikar and the IM Corona Old Boy. He points out the similarities and differences between the two. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4Gmx3ZrjdM

    Xikar lighter

Weird. I too live in Colorado and have not had any problems with the Old Boy. In fact I can't recall even once a failure to light. I don't even use the "good" butane. Plain old Ronson butane. :P

Help me pick out a Hand Gun!

Not sure what you mean. Since the bullets in both the .38 special and the 9mm are of the same diameter, the question then becomes, which cartridge would give better performance? In most instances, a hollow point from a 9mm cartridge will expand better than one from a .38 Special. I won't argue...
