I got this in a trade from wallbright (thanks again by the way)
My first time trying a Peter Stokkebye, and it's actually really good. :puffy:
Mild, I can taste a light chocolate, it's a pleasant smoke.
So anyhow, I can recommend it to the curious.
My question to the forum is, Can anyone say good or ill about other Peter Stokkebye blends?

Its actually funny that you should bring this up. I took a trip to the local B&M the other day. The only bulk blends they carry are Lane Limited blends and some Peter Stokkebye aromatics. I took a dive and got two ounces of the Nougat and two ounces of the Pistachio. As the nice gentleman was bagging up my baccy, I asked him how much of the bulk tobacco he thinks he sells in a week. His answer was, "Man, I sell at least 10 pounds of each of these blends a week, sometimes more." He says he gets great reviews for all the Stokkebye blends, but I have yet to try either of them. Now you got me curious. Ill have to try some now. Thanks for the review!

I've yet to find a Stokkebye bulk blend that isn't decent, let alone great. My favs are: PS Black Currant, English Luxury, English Oriental Supreme, Proper English, Nougat, Bull's Eye Flake, and Twist Flake. If I were you, I'd try them all.

My B&M only sells Stokkebye as the home blends. The bad thing is they use their own made up names on them and I have no clue what it is I am really smoking. :?:

I actually prefer Peter Stokkebye's bulk blends to Lane Limited. My current favorite Stokkebye blend is "Black Dansk".
Two months ago I received a sample of "Golden Dansk" from Pipesandcigars.com. I thought it was great, but after I compared the tobacco in the pouch to the picture online (I ordered another 8oz) I realized that it was actually "Black Dansk." This was confirmed with my IPSD Goodie Bag. I received another sample pouch of "Golden Dansk" and this time it looks correct compared with the photos online.
Anyway, point is, I'll be trying out the "Golden Dansk" soon and let you know how it is. Supposedly it's Stokkebye's answer to 1Q! :puffy:

I think Stokkebye is VERY high quality leaf. Not my cup of tea, but there's no denying the quality of the tobacco they use or their blending techniques. Never goopy or cloying. It's just top notch all the way.

I agree! I'm not a big fan of aromatics, but the ones I've tried from Stokkebye have been great!

Great to hear. I have the PS Luxury Bulls Eye, (fantastic) and the Navy Flake. Great blends.

My two favorite PS tobaccos are Balkan Supreme (a GREAT Balkan at a very reasonable price) and Luxury Bullseye Flake. The only problem with Balkan Supreme is that it can be hard to find. I get mine from Mars Cigars and IIRC it cost less than $30/lb. That's a tremendous bargain these days!

I also prefer Stokkebye tobaccos over Lane. I used to smoke quite a lot of the Nougat and the Optimum and still keep some on hand. Nice when I need a change of pace from the burleys.

I really enjoy the Nougat, but the Golden Danske doesn't do anything for me. I received a sample and gave it away after trying it.

Stokkebye Nougat as in Lord of the rings. true statement. I love the stuff I thought that I would get rid of all of my tobacco and just buy a ton of it. then I woke up still love the stuff it is my go to smoke.

Can't blame'em, it is good.

I just got around to trying my first bowl of the Nougat the other day and I have to say that it really wasnt my thing. Even when dried it smoked a little warm for my taste, not overly hot or bitey by any stretch, and there was little flavor, at least to me. Ill probably let it sit in a jar for a while and come back to it some other time.

:puffpipe: Good Choices! I always keep about 8 ounces of each on hand. The only other aromatic I keep in my inventory is 1Q

Peter Stokkebye uses very good quality tobacco. Some burn wetter than others. I haven't smoked all their aro offerings, but I can say that for the money is a whole lot better than what I can buy OTC.
Their B&B is my all-time favorite, along with the Balkan Supreme, which some have stated it's the bulk version of Balkan Sassieni. I'm going to buy a tin of that from P&S and compare it to the Balkan Supreme I get from my B&M.
