    What are You Reading?

The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. This is my 4th time reading it! :puffy:

    Something to Think About

Guilty as well. As Baron said, I don't know about the smart part, but I too have facial hair and own a lot of guns. :D

    In Regards to Tattoos

Same. When I was kid I was just fascinated by them to the point that I knew as soon as I was able, I would get tattooed, and I did. I am torn though on the rise in popularity of tattoos over the last 10 years or so. When I got tattooed, you had to go to the bad part of town to find a tattoo...

    60 Years Ago Today.

I have always been fascinated by English history and particularly the Monarchy. I agree with everything you said Withnail. I just couldn't imagine England without a Monarchy. As corny as this may sound, I have always considered the English as family, not just allies when it comes to the world...

    Worst halftime show ever!!

Personally, I wish they would just do away with the half time show. I want to watch football. Not a group of "has-beens" lip-syncing to crappy music.

How to light a pipe with a zippo?

Yes, and that is why I quit using the zippo and bought an Im Corona Old Boy lighter. The zippo lighter was fine when initially lighting up, but I too found it to be a pain in the ass to relight the tobacco if the bowl was half or more finished. In that case you had to do some hard and fast...

    Macqueen pipes?

Yes, I should have mentioned in my post. When I became interested in the MacQueen pipes, I heard and read the wait time horror stories and that actually put me off buying one from them so I took a different route. I went to Ebay and bought both of them from a pipe dealer that had them brand new...

    Macqueen pipes?

I own both the Wizard pipe and the White Wizard. I've been meaning to do a review on them but I just havent had the time. I will say this though, the two that I have are two of my favorite pipes. I probably reach for them more than any other pipe I own. I have read and seen YouTube videos of...

    New Dr.Grabow with strange markings

From what I understand, the leaves are carved onto the pipe to cover up cosmetic defects, either in the briar naturally, or from manufacturing.

How many bowls do you smoke in a row or in one sitting?

About 90% of the time I smoke two bowls back to back but with different pipes. I'll generally smoke a bowl of English and then smoke a bowl of whatever aromatic or non-english I'm currently enjoying. I average about 6 bowls a day and if I could, I'd probably smoke more than that. I'm guilty of...

    C&D Black Frigate

I'm with you on this one Pipe Novelist! Excellent description and spot on. I ordered a tin of it from PipesandCigars.com last month and after my 3rd bowl, ordered two more tins. It's got a very unique tin note and a wonderful, and very strong taste that I love. The description on the tin ends...

    Go to tobacco comapny?

Looking over my stash I'd say MacBaren, Cornell & Diehl, and Esoterica have the most representation in my cellar.

    My collection after 3 months

Very nice! How do you like that Hobbit's Weed? I was just in Tweksbury the other day picking up some more for the cellar. One of the best cherry blends I've ever tasted.

Giving Dr. Grabow a chance pt. 2

Not true. The local "Smoker Friendly" near my house carries several pipes from Dr. Grabow's "Big Pipe" line. The bowls on these are huge but they look a little awkward and they cost around $50 so I took a pass when I saw them.

    Question about English blends

I'm working on my second tin of Black Frigate. Good stuff! If you can't get enough latakia, I suggest you guys try C&D's DaVinci. Its 75% latakia. Its a tad one dimensional, but what flavor is there is nice.

Pipe Grip Ambidextrous (or Lack Therof)?

I'm right handed but I tend to favor clenching and puffing the pipe on the left side of my mouth. However, doing it on the right side doesn't feel unnatural and I'll occasionally switch it up just to keep things interesting. :puffy:

    Dunhill Night Cap: Your opinion.

Nightcap was the very first English blend I ever tried. Upon opening the tin, my reaction was much the same as yours. I remember thinking "WTF?" But, I packed a bowl and lit up. I didn't dislike that first bowl, but I didnt think it would be something that I would continue to buy. Funny how...

    Smoking indoors

I smoke indoors. I detest smoking outdoors, it IMO, changes the flavor of the smoke as well as the smoking characteristics, and not for the better, be it a pipe, cigar or cigarette. Like Aussielass mentioned, I too quit going to bars and clubs about 6 years ago when the state wide public...
