    19 Year Old Bombay Court

Hunter: I never tried Durbar. I smoked Balkan Sobranie for many years. Tastewise it seems to me that if you start with Sobranie, replace much of the Latakia with Oriental, you have Bombay Court. More subtle. If smoked in a well broken in pipe it is a treat. If the pipe has a strong stain taste...

    19 Year Old Bombay Court

Cob: The Extra has too much Latakia. It loses the subtlety.

    19 Year Old Bombay Court

I received a sample from Sable yesterday, and really have to say thanks. Bombay Court is my favorite tobacco. Very subtle and difficult to light, but it suits me. Am currently smoking 6 year old BC. The differences are, the 19 yr. is darker and even more subtle. And very mellow. I will be...

    Where to start with cigars?

I smoked cigars as a teenager. It was a long time ago. I liked Bering Imperials best, as a pretty good but budget smoke. They cost 35 cents and came in a metal tube. I looked them up and saw Berings for about $3 each, now. Didn't see Imperials or a metal tube, but they might be a good start.

    Purchase Duplicate Pipes?

I have up to 6 pipes of the same make, model and size. My rotation is within a group of near identical pipes. (Suddenly I cannot communicate well in English.) For instance I like the Dunhill 303 series. I have 2, 1303; 4, 2303; 5, 3303 and 6, 4303.

Smoke Pipe How Much Before Resting?

I rest a pipe a minimum of 4 days between smokes. A week is better.

So What is More Beautiful than a Pipe?

correction: kipling wrote "a good cigar is a smoke." Lots of booty for this site. Things must be loosening up. Jesse: Wise addition. You are a politician.

Taking Advantage of the Dip in the Euro

I just placed an order with Alpascia. They charged me $1.17 for a Euro. Great buy. Before I saw this thread I posted a notice about it.

    Euro Down, Savings Available

The Euro is now under $1.17. This is the time to buy pipes you want directly from European dealers. American vendors will hold their prices and profit excessively. But if you pay a European dealer in dollars, you automatically get the benefits of a lower Euro. I recommend Alpascia and James Barber.

Some Snapshots of my Pipe Room

Thanks guys for all the positive comments. Most of the McClelland is Bombay Court, of which I have about 200 cans.

Some Snapshots of my Pipe Room

Hi Al: I am not using the stove this year. The big drop in oil prices have made the house much cheaper to heat, so I am avoiding the bother and the extra air pollution. But my wife is coming up today and she will probably want a fire.

Some Snapshots of my Pipe Room

Stud: My wife is the neat freak in the house. She is on her way over here and I am sure she will consider the place a mess. Jazz: Dark green is restful and looks great as a background for paintings. Bradley: Still waiting for you to visit.

I had one. The finish was varnish. Junk!
