Savinelli Standing (316 KS) (6mm) for Uncle's Bday

I have that exact pipe; I bought it from forum member eaglerico. I don't smoke aromatics in it but I do love it! And I'm sure he will, too. I wish I had nephews like you.

    Working on This Wellington

Those "fancy" stems can be a real pain! I have been wanting one go these for a while and you're not helping me hold off on the PAD! LOL

Mini Meerschaum: Good Take Along Pipe or Not?

Thanks for the input. I saw a couple on the 'bay that come with cases.

Mini Meerschaum: Good Take Along Pipe or Not?

I meant a small meerschaum, not a mini MM cob.

Mini Meerschaum: Good Take Along Pipe or Not?

I've been thinking of getting a mini meerschaum pipe for a "take along" pipe. I currently use a MM Legend for that, most generally but thought one of these little meers might be a nice change. I figure they are about the same size, capacity wise, and probably smoke similarly. But I'd like input...

    Tamper Exchange 2014

Thanks, Mike. Yes, it took some handwork to get it where I was satisfied. One side had some "pits" in the grain that nearly drove me to the edge trying to get smoothed out! LOL

Turning A New Corner In Life

Jason, I can certainly identify with your situation. I've never been one that likes "change" if I were to be honest but sometimes these things are blessings in disguise. Prayers for you brother.

Thank You to My Pipe Club: These Forums

I've been absence a lot this year due to - well - many different things. Many of you know I'm disabled and suffer from chronic pain, which has a lot to do with my stretches of being MIA but I've been battling "other" things of late, too. Anyway, I'm in an area that even if I could go there are...

Missouri Meerschaum Corn Cob Cracking ???

Yes it is. I've also used fireplace mortar to level out the bottom of the bowls (in cobs and briars); Bradley gave me that little tip. :puffy:

    Tamper Exchange 2014

Thanks, Winton. Since I'm not sure about number two yet I'll post the first one now. It is made from a piece of walnut, a scrap from a log I've had curing for a couple of years. I cut it with a coping saw to a rough shape, then used a Vulcrylic file to rough shape it further. Then I used a...

    Tamper Exchange 2014

Okay, I have one made and ready; I need to photograph it and post the pics yet though. I have a second one I'm working on and may or may not get done by the deadline. Should I wait to post the photos until I see if I get the second one done or add it if I do? (I'm hoping to do a "choice" if I...

    Spammers Among Us

Yeah, I got it, too. I reckon it's unavoidable from time to time. I'm going to check out that link condorlover1 shared.

Missouri Meerschaum Corn Cob Cracking ???

Leakage around the shank aren't that uncommon really: you can patch that with a bit if super glue. I've had a coupe MM cobs crack like you mention after smoking them several times in a day - and probably a bit hot. So far none have burned out or broken, they just look less "nice". Something I...

I Think I May Be Addicted (To Making Tampers)

Good and addictive fun to be sure! I really like how you're recycling the old shelf. :puffy:

Do You Smoke Bulk Sooner Than Tinned?

I'm the same way. Even after I pop a tin and jar it I'm more apt to reach for a jarred bulk. I'd never given it a thought until now though! LOL

Tamper Carving- What Tools Do You Use?

8)Thanks, Redbeard and grumpy; I'm "getting there". I appreciate your advice, too, grumpy. I'm going to give it a go as soon as I can. We shall see how the "go" goes ....
