Newby Questions About Breaking In A New Pipe
I generally "break in" new pipes by filling all the way to the top, and smoking slowly all the way to the bottom. Not much science to it. I don't use particularly aromatic blends, usually a straight VA or a Va/Per. I'm sure a Burley blend would work fine too. I don't recommend filling...- musicman

Smoking with Your Eyes Closed...
While the visual aspect of smoking is somewhat appealing to me, the taste/flavor is most important. I've read that when you cut off one sensory intake, the other sensory intakes get more sensitive, so maybe I should try smoking with my eyes closed. Nice little haul today: 8 oz of Rouxgaroux, 200 gr of Marlin Flake for the cellar, some KBV blends that only land 1-2 times/year, and a couple of Pease blends I’ve never tried. The Fillmore is dated 9/27/18. I love it when tins arrive pre-aged!- musicman
