Hi,

I started pipe smoking a couple of years ago and i've been scouring this forum for quite sometime so i thought it was about time i introduced myself, I'm a new pipe smoker probably circa 2 years and recently decided to take up cigars so the pipes have taken a backseat but my interest has peaked again. I'm not entirely sure what blends i love as i started with aromas which were really great struggled with Virginia's, tried some English and then got into cigars.

Since Covid i have been outside the US and i'm living in Japan at the moment so all my pipes and tobacco are in storage, I recently made a decent purchase of tobacco (I'm in no doubt the whiskey helped me do this) from smoking tobacco and a nice Peterson Pipe, the blends are really an array of some bulk and tins, with some blends from Sutliff (Cavindish, 245 ZBC, 1M) , Peter Stokkebye (English Oriental) and a few tin from C&D (Dreams of Kaddath, Autumn Evening, Quiet night, Golden days of Yore).

Hopefully i can add something to the forum going forward.

Stay Safe

Thanks
regan

Sounds exotic! Are you not allowed to bring pipes or tobacco into Japan?

Either way, welcome to the forum! There is lots of great info here and conversation as well.

Thanks Mike,

Yes you can bring in Tobacco but there are thresholds before you are hit with import tax usually anything above $200, they also look a the quantity you are bringing in.

I have had cigars shipped over in the past but this is my first time getting pipe tobacco delivered, they don't seem to have a huge variety here or at least i could not find it.

Will be interesting to see how much i get charged if anything from customs the shipping itself cost $65 which was expensive.

Oh, my. Brave you! And best of luck with Customs. And Welcome to the forum!

You can put your location in your Profile—(please!—because people will forget!) That will save questions in the future as to where you live when you later mention local stores, weather, tobacco prices, availability, regulations, location of photos, wildfires, air quality, etc., etc..
Under your avatar, (top right, left most of three symbols) you choose "Account Details", which brings up "My Account". "My Location" is halfway down. Whatever you're comfortable with- town, city, county, state. Just country if you must.
