    Loose Stem

Someone here somewhere posted a video on how to tighten a lose stem with a tea candle and water. I can’t find it but wanted to thank who ever it was. My new Peterson had a loose stem and that trick worked like a friggin charm.

    Pipe Heaven Is...

I’d have to agree with the drizzly autumn evening but not out walking in it. I’d have to say lounging on a couch on a screened porch overlooking the autumn landscape from up on a hill with some espresso and my wife not nagging me about it.

    My New Savinelli

Mostly English blends. Right now it’s a local shop blend called Huntsman and it’s incredible. About to ash it and put some Virginia flake in it. I was told this pipe and my Peterson are best with English blends. I have no idea if that’s true but the stuff I’ve grown to like over the last two...

    My New Savinelli

It’s a 602 and thought anything that’s not a p-lip was a fishtail. I know that most maintain basically the same width from the tenon to the bit and some flare a bit. Is there something else, am I missing something? This pipe stays cooler than my Pete, which has twice the briar.

    The Tobacco Shop Ridgefield NJ

Correct on the address, my bad. The owner walked around the shop the whole time smoking a pipe so I don’t understand why they wouldn’t let you smoke.

    My New Savinelli

Just picked this up today at The Tobacco Shop in Ridgewood NJ. It’s a Sistina Rusticated 6mm. I’m just now smoking my first bowl in it without the filter or insert and I’m really liking it so far. I’m shocked at how cool it smokes. I guess it could be then blend though. That’s new to me also.

    The Tobacco Shop Ridgefield NJ

So I went to this shop today and I have to say I was pretty amazed. They had a great selection of pipes anywhere from $30-$4000. Many brands I’ve not yet heard of. And, they actually blend their own pipe tobacco. The owners couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful. Apparently the place has been...

    Filter Pipes

So what about the insert in a Savinelli? With or without?

    The Tobacco Shop Ridgefield NJ

Just curious as to whether anyone of you have ever been to this shop? Looks a decent selection. I plan on running up there soon, possibly today.

    Filter Pipes

How long would you leave a filter in? If we clean our good pipes each time we smoke what do we do with the filter?
  12. Swampy16

    Filter Pipes

Ok thanks hairvise, I did see that one.

    My Next Pipe

I’ve been eyeing up the cobbs no doubt. Whats PAD? I’m in the woods a lot.

    My Next Pipe

Can you post some pictures? I can’t find that one. I never knew Ashston made pipes.

    My Next Pipe

Here it is. Maybe it’s less because it has a nickel band? Maybe? I see now the stem on the one you posted is Lucite and looks much nicer. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Peterson-Donegal-Rocky-XL90-Tobacco-Pipe-Fishtail/172823047846?hash=item283d0e6ea6:g:GoUAAMXQ-BZQ9s3~

    My Next Pipe

I agree completely. My wife gives me heat for smoking to begin with and if I’m ordering $200 pipes on line she’s liable to cut me in my sleep. That’s an easier task at a retail shop where cash is king. I did find a similar one on eBay for less than half . I’ll find it again and post it.

    My Next Pipe

Oh my ! Thst May scratch a couple of itches and possibly even break the skin. She’s a bit too spendy at the moment unfortunately at $200+.
