Looks like 4noggins, which has notoriously high consignment prices. I'd check pipestud to see what something closer to market value is, but it does seem like 4nog sells their stuff, so what do I know?
I'm 40, and I bought my first pipe 11 years ago. I dabbled with the usual house aro blends, but the first blend I really liked and smoked regularly was McClelland's Classic Samsun. I smoked pretty infrequently until about two years ago, when it became a regular thing. Now I smoke pretty much...
Your answer is here. Orlik is also produced by STG. The first two digits are the year, so both tins are from 2020. The second group of two digits is the month, and the third group of two digits is the day. So, 200710 corresponds to July 10th, 2020...
There's a lot of truth here. I remember attending the second round of the PGA Championship back in 2009 and, while I was smoking my (authentic) Ramon Allones Specially Selected being approached by a guy selling fake Cohibas from a glass-top box. I laughed at him and turned him down, but I'm...
Variety is the spice of my tobacco life. I have probably over 100 jars that I rotate through. Part of it is that when I explore a blend type, I tend to order a number of different examples, often in bulk (value!), and here in the Sonoran Desert it's necessary for anything that is in bulk or in...
I'm all over the place. I'll generally smoke a couple of dozen blends over the course of a month or so. But, if I was forced to name my favorite houses, I'd have to go with C and D and GH and Co (with a nod as well to Sam Gawith and K and K-Love my Rattray's).
For boutique blenders, Ernie Q...
Just finished the end of a bowl from a few days ago: Heinrich's Curly Block in a Sasieni two dot Bristol. Now enjoying my first full bowl of the day: Bob's Chocolate Flake in a Mastro de Paja Classica bent billiard.
With coffee (so, most of the time), C and D Pegasus, KBV Mycroft, WC Deluxe Crumb Cut, Dark Bird's Eye (50/50 DBE and Deluxe Crumb Cut is a fav).
After my coffee? A Va or VaPer, usually. Rouxgaroux, Match Victorian, Simply Red, FVF, SJF, and others.
Enjoying my first ever bowl of Ennerdale Flake in a Road Town bent apple. This is really tasty stuff! Looking forward to the remainder of my Lakeland tour. Tried Rum Flake last night and enjoyed it as well.
Thanks for the comments, everyone! As with most things pipes, it appears that there are as many answers to my question as there are members of this forum, and none of them are wrong! I am glad to get a variety of perspectives, as well as to find out what worked for all of you.
Lookin' good! I love it when I organize my tobacco and clean all the pipes. When I'm done sometimes I just sit there and stare at my handiwork. Yeah, I'm weird. My wife reminds me of that all the time.
I made Eggplant Bharta for dinner tonight! I haven’t made it in years but it was absolutely delish! My wife and I did a produce rescue this morning and ended up with 12 or so large eggplants. We had a green salad with dinner so I suppose it was actually a totally vegan meal.
Extracting forgiveness from an Italian can be one of the more futile endeavors in life. My wife is 50 percent Italian so I am keenly aware of this.
Good to see other distributors receiving their supply!
I know some people feel the SPC bulk prices on these blends are a bit high, but I do appreciate the chance to try many of these blends without committing to a 500 gr box.
Mars is good people though. I've never had anything but good...
Well, we obviously have different tastes, but I can't argue with your list. Mine would be (in no particular order):
Sam Gawith St. James Flake
Match Victoria
C and D Pegasus
WC Rouxgaroux
Gl Pease Cairo
C and D Black Frigate
Gawith Bosun Cut Plug
Rattray's Marlin Flake
Esoterica Dunbar
WC...
