Depends on the beverage. If I'm drinking coffee it will be a Burley blend, hh Burley flake or a C&D Burley flake. If I'm having tea I should pick a Virginia.... buuuuuut I usually dont, in which case I grab a Burley haha
Something on the strong side. I used to require very strong blends, but I've become a bit more flexible. GH&C Dark Flake, 1792 Flake, HH Bold Kentucky and GL Pease JackKnife Plug have all been morning staples for me for a while. Recently, I've been enjoying Peterson's Irish Flake, Triple Play and C&D Burley Flake #3 as well.
I'm not much for smoking before noon, just by habit. I have my coffee with food and two required pills and supplements, and the pipe comes later. I put a little milk in my stovetop percolator coffee, and the milk coats my mouth and mutes the flavors of a pipe. As some may know, the percolator coffee is my thing. I make my wife a separate pot of French press, and she goes for elevated blends, whereas I drink Chock Full of Nuts or Maxwell House. Lately I have to settle for decaf, though I prefer regular, to make my disposition more upbeat in my codger-hood.
