Peter Stokkebye: PS400 Luxury Navy Flake

Nice write-up. I also enjoy this blend. It's great both fresh and aged. Fresh, I seem to taste a little more of the rum topping. Aged, the topping seems to disappear a bit but the constituent tobaccos seem to meld better and provide an overall richer, smoother smoke. The price, especially if...

***What Are You Smoking, August 2021?***

Just enjoyed (very much!) a bowl of AJ's VaPer in a Randy Wiley bent dublin. This blend was ok when I bought a few oz in 1/20, but it has become delicious with 19 months of age!

    My BM Store is Gone

Nooooo! I hit up that Stagg a few months ago on the way back from Sedona. It was pretty sad to see the entire rest of the mall completely empty and closed up. The North Scottsdale location is not very convenient for anyone (such as me) driving through town. I'll be ok. Moving to Ohio in a...

    Va-Pers

This is great advice. Not every tobacco will improve with age, but most VaPers will. There are some on here who believe that some of the best VaPers (SJF, for instance) are vastly improved with age, and some of these folks have the most respected palates on the board.

    Va-Pers

I feel like this is one of those questions that gets asked every month or so, but here goes: Favorite? I have a few, and one that's probably my #1 but that depends on mood. Most have already been mentioned here. Gawith St. James Flake Watch City Rouxgaroux GL Pease Sixpence Stokkebye...

    Rich’s in Portland OR

Yes I am aware of the way that Antifa is organized (or not organized) but it made more sense for my comment to word it the way I did. As for the rest, I generally agree with you but we probably should not be having such discussions here as they are clearly political in nature.

    Rich’s in Portland OR

I was shocked by some of the changes. I didn't see much evidence of the BLM protests, but it's obvious that groups such as the Proud Boy and Antifa have been using downtown as a staging ground for their war. The real issue, though, is a complete lack of political will in city hall to deal...

    Amphora Virginia Blend

I agree that it is not as complex as some straight VA blends out there, but it's really an excellent smoke for the price, and one of the best blends out there that comes in a pouch, IMO.

    Re: Brobs

Well put. I think one of the best things about this forum is that the mods do an excellent job of letting us be ourselves while at the same time not allowing us to succumb to our baser, tribal instincts. This is probably the most well run forum I've ever been a part of in that respect. It is...

    Re: Brobs

While the origins of the flag aren't necessarily political, or certainly not partisan (I think we can all agree that generally the police, particularly those who are injured or killed in the line of duty, need our support) in recent years it has been co-opted by ultra right-wing factions such as...

    Re: Brobs

I agree but this was not his first offense. I totally agree with this. There is too much passive-aggressive political commentary, particularly from the right, on this forum. A lot of it doesn't get policed, but I've found that whatever is reported is usually dealt with by our mods, who are...

    Re: Brobs

You get a time out the first few times, and the time outs get longer and longer. I think this would be BROBS' 2nd or 3rd offense in the past year. One was for going after a brand new member for being from Singapore....I dunno, he was pissed about the way Asian cultures treat animals or...

How to Pack Cellar for Moving Cross-Country.

But then what am I going to do with all these "Caution: Live Rattlesnakes" stickers I just bought off of Amazon?

Are those the labels that ensure they will play package football with my boxes while they’re being delivered?

Mariemont, Madisonville, Norwood, and Silverton are all on the list too. I'll have to check out Amberly! When I came out for the interview they put me up at the Mariemont inn. I loved the Tudor architecture! Regarding the weather, based on what I was reading, I think by the third week of...

How to Pack Cellar for Moving Cross-Country.

Nice! Good to know. I agree on the mylar. I started out aging bulk blends long term in jars, but I've since wizened up to using mylar, and it's amazing how much space I'm saving. Thanks for the report! The church I'll be working for is in Kenwood, and we'd like to enjoy everything downtown...

If you buy it in the 4 oz tins, it comes as a stuffed wad of roughly 8 inch flakes.

Currently sitting in the garage watching storms roll through town while enjoying a bowl of Watch City Rouxgaroux in a Sasieni two-dot 1/8th bent billiard that used to belong to fishnbanjo.

    Broken Castello

Thanks! I thought that was interesting as well, which is exactly why I included that picture in the post. Seems like a really weird place to have any sort of misuse induced burn-out, so the only conclusion I'm left with is that it was some sort of weakness in the block. I do wonder about...
