It appears that there's more than a few who have the opinion that anything that does not come in a 50g tin is all "middle-of-the-road swill".

PSLNF is a very good blend.
Although it smells even more delicious with a bit of age in a jar, I much prefer it fresh than aged.
Hoping it'll 'come back' with a bit more age.
PS luxury navy flake is one of my favorites

I feel like this is one of those questions that gets asked every month or so, but here goes:

Favorite? I have a few, and one that's probably my #1 but that depends on mood. Most have already been mentioned here.

Gawith St. James Flake
Watch City Rouxgaroux
GL Pease Sixpence
Stokkebye Luxury Bullseye Flake
Watch City Old Dominion
Cringle Flake 2020

and a number of others. I love VaPers.

But my all time #1 is probably GL Pease Fillmore. Something about the light Latakia addition (reported to be 2 percent of the blend) really adds more depth and richness and helps to enhance the Va and Perique.

It does seem to come around a lot. Perhaps someone more experienced in the ways of the forum than I (not hard, I know) could set up a large Virginia-Perique poll and the moderators could make the poll and is comments into a sticky thread?

I know that sounds like trying to duplicate tobaccoreviews.com, but people do seem to want to ask in the comfortable surroundings of their favourite forum.

I'm too impatient to age anything. I have to smoke it right away

Aging blends was a happy consequence from stocking up while the import window was still open.
I've now got blends of most genres from which to choose.
My straight Virginias have been pushed to the back of the baccy cupboard to give them some age.
I can afford to ignore them because I've got other blends to smoke until they've got a bit of age.

One pleasant surprise was AJ's Vaper.
Did not like it fresh so it was jarred and shoved to the back of the cellar with the intention of using it as a mixer with my homegrown.
Just recently, after 3-4 years, I tried a bowl and the difference is amazing.

Tobacco will not ever be any cheaper [in the U.S. that is] Strike while the iron is hot and build as big a stash as ones income allows.
Once one has a big enough stash, you will be smoking aged baccy not before long.
There's no such thing as 'too much' tobacco.

This is great advice. Not every tobacco will improve with age, but most VaPers will. There are some on here who believe that some of the best VaPers (SJF, for instance) are vastly improved with age, and some of these folks have the most respected palates on the board.

True there is never enough tobacco, and I live in NY so the taxes really bone ya .

Because of stocking away tobacco when online orders to Australia were still possible, I also have some now extinct blends from McClelland for example that are happily aging and waiting for me to get round to them. I don't see any downsides to stocking up a bit while you can.

PS LNF and LTF are both good, although to me they aren't outstanding. Break them up and mix them together 50-50... AMAZING. Fresh or aged, this little mix rocks.

Ascanian has a nice interplay of perique and orientals, sort of prunes + oregano + olive oil. I have only smoked the no 1,, but no. 2 has twice the amount of Pe.

Haven't tried Ascanian No 1, but No 2 is among my favourites.

I'm from a land of oregano and olive oil, for me the signature taste of "oriental" is that of cumin. Latakia can be oily, as heavily stoved Virginia can as well, but the definitive OILY tobacco are the black ropes from Gawith, didn't like them at the end.
