    How to Restore Vintage Pipes?

I been doing a lot of it lately and its surprisingly easy. I started with cleaning up the stems..... using warm water and oxiclean. Then sanding them first with 600 then 800, 1200, 1500, then finally 3000. Polish them with carnauba wax or mineral oil, they'll look amazing. You can polish the...

Your Experience with Bit Grips/Softy Bits?

I have 1 on every pipe and and back ups. I suggest buy small. They stretch a lot and you want them tight or you'll suck air under it. If you clench they will snap every so often. I wouldn't buy name brand though they have them wayyy cheaper on Amazon.

    lol What Happened? 2/19/24

I was smoking some S. &. G 1792, when I ashed the bowl and with the ash the whole thing fell out in a coned piped shape still lit. I picked it up and dropped it back in the bowl continued my smoke. I didn't even dump it hard I just stirred the loose ash then lightly turned it upside down and...

Fist Ever Rustication &. New Rotary 2/17/24

Thanks. Yeah I definitely want to. This pipe had a deep pit in the shank, so I had to sand that out and rusticate with a light hand. I'd like to do something like a Dr. Grabow freehand, with smoke lines, maybe a tobacco leaf like on some.

Fist Ever Rustication &. New Rotary 2/17/24

I wanted to use White Diamond, then Carnauba wax, but I gotta order it. So I just did Carnauba wax on the rotary buffer pad.

I like a deeper rustication too. I went lighter because it had a hole in the outside bottom of the shank that I had to sand down. The hole didnt go all the way through. But since it was thinner there I went lighter so it all matched.

    In Praise of Mixture 79

I didn't like it at first now I really like it. I've never gotten a grandmas purse taste or smell. I don't know where that comes from it's straight up liquorish and root beer to me. Glad you enjoyed it. You should try War Horse green. It's not much like 79, but it's another anise blend...
