I like it . I say go deeper … I’ve done a few pipes like that , deep and craggy makes for a good hand feel .

I like a deeper rustication too. I went lighter because it had a hole in the outside bottom of the shank that I had to sand down. The hole didnt go all the way through. But since it was thinner there I went lighter so it all matched.

Looks very nice. Are you going to try a craggy rustication when you have a suitable piece?
Thanks. Yeah I definitely want to. This pipe had a deep pit in the shank, so I had to sand that out and rusticate with a light hand. I'd like to do something like a Dr. Grabow freehand, with smoke lines, maybe a tobacco leaf like on some.
