They are a little heavy and tend to get hot, but are nearly indestructible. I have two and they are generally the pipes I take with me when travelling. They will definitely remain a part of my collection.
It definitely reminds me of a woodsy campfire taste...and Death, but the nice version of Death, The Death who sits with his companions around a woodsy campfire, probably enjoying a beer, maybe someone is playing a guitar. That dog you had when you were a kid is definitely there AND the...
It looks okay to me. The fact that it's spread out over the entire surface is actually probably a good sign. If there was a spot of something grayish or greenish in one place I would be concerned. 1792 has a pretty intense smell. Personally, I would likely smoke that with no concern, but...
Why, I was just up there last Saturday!!
I am decidedly NOT rural at the moment. I live in the extreme East San Francisco bay Suburbs now, but lived in the city of San Francisco for several years. However, I did live the first 25 years or so of my life on an approximately 15 acre farm in the...
Yep, they were set up right next to each other at the last West Coast Show seemed like good people. The little Rimkus I picked up, made by dad, got several positive comments as I smoked it later that day while browsing the tables.
ejames beat me to it. I have at least one Grabow with a leaf carved into it. I believe they do it to disguise pits and blemishes. Anyway, they are part of the Grabow process.
One of my pipes was delivered to the wrong address several years back. The vendor had transcribed the numbers in the address. Luckily, the people who lived at that address where able to track me down and let me know they had received the package by mistake.
Yeah, would love to make that happen. We need to work around the kids' school schedule, mostly make sure one or other set of grandparents are available to watch them that weekend.
I visited Crescent City Cigar when I was there in 2013. Seemed like a good place. They had a small, but decent selection of pipes. I ended up picking one up as a memento of the trip, first trip back since Katrina. We'll likely be going back there again sometime later this year.
Play or play well?!?!
If you mean the first, a little guitar, a little bass, trumpet, really terrible keyboard/piano if I stick to chords or something VERY simple on the left hand and kazoo.
If you mean the second, nothing, absolutely nothing.
