    Hi from Denmark

Welcome, and keep in mind that if the bar is small enough - less than 40 sq meters - you can still smoke indoors in Copenhagen. routesnorth.com/copenhagen/smoking-in-copenhagen/ Actually, I think my profile picture was taken in a Copenhagen bar.

    Dunhill Tobaccos Rebranded as Peterson

I do confess to taking perverse pleasure in watching the rumor mill swirl on these sort of things.

    Dunhill Tobaccos Rebranded as Peterson

Pardon for not weighing in earlier. Where to begin... - That's a real power point from our company. A bit surprised that the entire power point got out there (typically we'd just use the press release page), but the content is all suitable for public consumption - Not going to weigh in on the...

    Oliver Twist

Actually, Oliver Twist will continue to be sold here in the US, although there will likely be some disruption in the short term. We were the exclusive distributor for the past couple of years. Last year the company was purchased by Swedish Match. STG's distribution agreement ended at the end of...

    Drying tobacco & nicotine effect

Drying should not impact the nicotine level in the tobacco itself. If you are noticing a difference, your hypothesis is probably sound. After drying you are possibly smoking a higher volume of tobacco.

The PipeWorld's connection to world-class music

Check out The Punch Brothers if you get a chance, particularly live. Amazing stuff. I believe Scott was actually playing bass when Nickel Creek won their grammy.

Dunhill Pipe Tobacco - A message from STG Lane

Hi All: As you may have seen in a separate thread, BAT (owner of the Dunhill brand), has announced that it has decided to 'cease trading' with Dunhill pipe tobacco and cigars. STG Lane is the importer for the pipe tobacco here in the U.S. Here is what we know: BAT plans to cease trading...

Dunhill Tobaccos Discontinued (At Least In The Netherlands And Perhaps Elsewhere

Hi All: I'll post a response from STG Lane (importer)in a separate thread.

    What To Do In Atlanta?

For downtown, you have the aquarium, World of Coke, CNN Center, and College Football Hall of Fame all within a block or two of each other. Not many smoke friendly places, but there is a small cigar store called the Cigar Times in the same area. My recommendation is a short Uber ride to Little 5...

    Cigar vs Pipe tobacco

"Stages" was probably an inexact phrase to use. It's really probably better described as a single stage or process. The way I've seen it done is with the tobacco piled into giant mounds (pilons), containing anywhere from 2,000 to 5,000 lbs of tobacco. The tobacco within each pilon is then...

    Cigar vs Pipe tobacco

I know just enough to be dangerous here... One of the primary differences between pipe and cigar is the leaf itself. While pipe tobacco relies heavily on Virginia, Burley, Oriental, Dark Fired, Latakia & Perique, 99% of cigars are made exclusively of Dark Air Cured. I've struggled over the...

    Anyone tried Lane Andullo yet?

Itstone, those were my thoughts exactly. Interesting to here the anise/licorice comments, as there is none in this blend. Also, the Latakia amount is relatively small here (

Tobacco Manufacturers & Pipe Smokers In The USA.

My estimate (based on various sources) is about 1.5% - 2% of the adult male population, so roughly 2 million plus pipe smokers. Manufacturers McClelland Sutliff C&D Daughters and Ryan STG Lane Altria By manufacturers I'm referring to companies that actually process and produce the tobacco...

    Anyone tried Lane Andullo yet?

Michael: I'm extremely curious to know what you - and anyone else who has smoked Lane Andullo - thought. I love this blend, but I'll be honest, when I first launched it I thought: I'm the only person in the world who is going to like this blend. It's just not quite like anything I've ever...

    Lane 10 Downing Street

I don't believe we've produced that one in about 7 or 8 years. Not unheard of for a retailer to have bag in an old tub for that period of time, I suppose, although unlikely if the blend needed a little drying first. Glanced at the recipe and the primary ingredient is Black cav, with a mild dose...

A Couple Older Pouches - Prestige Mixture And Blend 11

Don't know for certain, but I suspect these came to Tucker sometime after 1983. We actually still make Blend 11 for export. I want to say BAT owns the brand names now.

    These Advertisements

Hi all. Unfortunately there are some retailers who don't want to deal with coupons and there's not a whole lot we can do about it. If you go to the brand web sites there should be a store locator function that might help you find an alternative retailer. As far as spam, when you sign up you'll...

This is Really Dumb: The FDA Defines Tobacco

"...The FDA has decided that it needs to define a tobacco product as any product that is 'derived from tobacco that is intended for human consumption.'" This is mostly likely about ensuring they have jurisdiction over e-liquids.

    Unknown Danger of e-Cigarettes

'Unknown'is probably an appropriate phrase. Lots of misinformation and disinformation out there, but the bottom line is the whole category is too new for there to have been any long-term studies. The most objective person talking about the category (and tobacco as a whole) that I have run into...

    Lane 1Q Question

A lot of our bulk blends back in the were given names that are less-than-ideal from a marketing perspective (RLP-6, HS-3, etc.), so I assume some of the original intent was to allow tobacconists to rename the products. Do we care? Yes and no. Like any consumers goods company, we would idealy...
