    A Study in Scarlet

Perfect! I have been borrowing the e-book versions from my library but I think I will take your advice and buy the big collection book. In a day and age where everything is so convenient, I much prefer to rest my eyes with a book rather than a screen. I plan on running errands and then heading...

    A Study in Scarlet

I just finished reading A Study in Scarlet by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I was drawn into reading the Sherlock Holmes series after I began to smoke pipes. I must admit, that for a story written over 100 years ago, this book was truly remarkable! I thought I would be bored by such an old novel...

    Samuel Gawith flake

My local shoppe just received a shipment this week. They are fully stocked on everything except the mysterious St. James Plug... Hopefully, that is a sign that other places will be receiving shipments as well.

    Newer Samuel Gawtih FVF

I am really new at pipe smoking but can someone explain why the Samuel Gawith blends are so hard to find? Are they still producing them? I am dying to try the St James Flake and the St James Plug but no luck yet.

    McClelland Blend No. 2015

Fair enough. I may go drive to some shops in the suburbs and see if I get lucky. I have had some good luck on the forums which is why I posted. I will let you guys know if I find a B&M that has a stash of this blend listed as something else.

    McClelland Blend No. 2015

Good afternoon, So I am fascinated by the amazing McClelland Blend No. 2015. However, as we all know, these blends are no longer available. I have found that different shops call this blend something different. One of my local shops calls it their University Flake, while another hid it from us...

    Holiday Scams

So true. I give to organizations and specific groups that help individuals. Not to individuals! Call me cold-hearted but where I live, people hold up signs that say, “Who am I kidding, its for weed”. I have my own smoking addictions!

    Keeping track of them all

Good Morning, First off welcome you to the forum, glad to have you here! As far as keeping track of the blends and which ones I like... I keep a Google “word” document on my phone which I constantly update as I smoke and try new blends. I have a like/dislike list, a “want to try” list, a “buy...

    Traveling to the Dominican Republic

I have traveled there and can tell you that they do not care about tobacco as long as it is not a commercial amount. Meaning personal use does not matter. If you bring in 100 lbs of it for sale then they will ask you about it. Electronics, a large quantity of jewelry or several pricey luxury...

Show off Your Corn Cobs Here!

I edit them all to first on my phone by changing the size ratio. That fixes the issue for me.

    Doomsday Pipe

I have to agree that building a bunker and stashing 200lbs of food per person per day sounds a bit nuts until something actually happens where you need said bunker and food. I worked in the EMS field a bit in my younger days and that is where I learned to have several bags depending on location...

Cornell & Diehl Jolly Old St. Nicholas

TSA: Tin Seperation Anxiety- when a tobacco is removed from the tin and allowed to marinate in a jar where air is exposed to a mixture. For a period of time the tobacco is allowed to sit and the anxiety of the Pipe Enthusiast is relaxed from fresh tin flavor.

Softy Pipe Bits, Do You Use Them?

I also use them on all my pipes. I wash them before putting them on and have not had a rubber taste to them ever. When in doubt, get the smaller tips since they stretch a bit.

How Hard Is It To Not Smoke A New Pipe All The Time?

Seems like this is a common problem. My solution has been to buy another new pipe and smoke that one while the other rests. It may not be the most cost effective solution but I have a few nice pipes with this method.
