Bought a Nice Cigar for New Year's Eve... Doesn't Compare to Pipes Anymore

Funny thing is I also tried this after a hearty Christmas Eve dinner. I had an Arturo Fuente Short Story. AF is my go to brand for a delicious creamy smoke. However, after three months of jumping from tin to tin and finding the small differences between this bowl and that blend, the cigar did...

    Sweetest Tobacco Blend (Still Available)

Thanks for the reading material, it was very informative. I also realized that I have been using terms incorrectly (casing vs topping). I guess I will just keep trying different blends until I find one that suits my needs. I thought of OTC blends as inferior because of their price but now so...

    Sweetest Tobacco Blend (Still Available)

A friend said that next time we meet up, he would be bringing some “frosted” tobacco for me to try. The frosting is allegedly sugar crystals forming from the sweet nectar this blend oozes. I have not yet seen or smoked it. So I said to myself, “Self, why don’t you ask those boys on the forum...

    Proper Tin-Opening Technique

I have this on my key ring. It has multiple uses, especially for travelling(TSA compliant). You can have a dull edge to cut open bags, boxes, snacks and even to pry open a stubborn tin. Coins, keys, booger pickers and knives can work, but this works for me...

    Dunhill Aperitif Underrated?

I agree with you... I really enjoy Nightcap and Elizabethan but Aperitif makes it to one of my pipes at least once a week. Oddly, I only smoke Nightcap once in a while because I only have a tin and a half left but I burned through three tins, down to my last one, of Aperitif and still enjoy it...

    Favorite "Cheer Up" Tobacco

Cornell and Diehl Pirate Kake while watching the 1st Pirates of the Carribean or Peretti’s 432 (some say it is Lane 1-Q) while walking my dog. I guess I have only smoked those when I am in a good mood. Also C&D Mountain Camp is the only tin I ever take up when I go camping. I will pray that life...

    Teeth Wear

Before getting into the hobby I read up on the potential negative health issues. However, my happiness while I smoke, the friends I have met and the entertainment from pipe smoking far outweigh the health risks for me! I try not to clench the pipe in my teeth and simply put it down if I need to...

    Dunhill Nightcap Knockout

I enjoy Nightcap and the bold flavor it provides. I’ve never had a nic-hit from it. However, Peterson’s Irish Whiskey blend gets me loopy and dizzy each time! I think it just depends on what your body chemistry wants to do with that specific blend.

    LJ Peretti

I have only tried the Cuban Mixture and the Tashkent. Both are very tasty and left me wanting more. For what it’s worth, I tried the Boston and Cambridge flakes and bought a paint can of the Cambridge! I plan on buying a paint can of Tashkent and 432 next time I go. Enjoy them often!
