Can you guys smoke a full bowl without drinking something?

I have been drinking time-of-day specific tea with my pipe. An English breakfast tea or earl grey with my english blends in the morning. A spiced or chai tea with my aromatics or mid-day. Lastly, some bed time tea with a heavy English (Nightcap if it a special occasion) before bed. I can do...

    Best Shop Visit?

Trout, If you are ever in the area check out Edwards on any given night. You will see what I am talking about. Some of the guys there drive by other shops on their way to Edwards.

    Best Shop Visit?

I have been to six different shops and the only one I suggest from countless positive experiences, excellent stock of tobacco, cigars, pipes and supplies... Edwards in Englewood, Colorado. I have been to other shops in Colorado and some along the east coast, but like my granpapi used to say, “If...

    Case

I store my Peterson pipes on a rack, the cobs in a small basket and my other briars in their socks in a drawer. For travel I use a leather pipe roll or a hard sided Pelican case if I am carrying more than three.

Waxing (or maybe waning) philosophically: Hobby or habit?

I am a new smoker and right now I want to say it is 100% hobby! However, I smoke every Tuesday night with my buddies, every other Friday at my local shop, and Sunday afternoons after all the errands and chores have been completed. I don’t crave it or get the shakes if I don’t have it, but I...

    The American Blend???

I will be trying some C&D blends tonight, specifically the Haunted Bookshop and whatever else my shop has. I would love to have companies put out their version of the American Blend and we all get to try them and through a series of votes, we settle this once and for all!

    The American Blend???

    The American Blend???

I am enjoying a bowl of L.J. Peretti’s Cuban Mixture while reading the reviews on tobaccoreviews.com. I came across one reviewer who referred to it as “... a true American Original”. Got me thinking and wanted to ask you fine lot: What pipe tobacco blend, currently available, would you choose to...

    Support Local Shops

All of the reasons above is why I consider myself lucky to have such a great shop within walking distance. I will continue to support them as much as I can... within reason.

    Support Local Shops

Some good points I never considered! I can see various reasons why a B&M shop does not make sense to some. Like I said, I spent several hours at the shop, had a great time and purchased some hard to find tins and some cleaners. I did not need any of the items I purchased but I want to support...

    Support Local Shops

This thought just came to me after a recent visit at my local pipe and cigar shop... While most online retailers offer a great value ($9 for a tin vs $13 at a B&M), I decided to buy as many of my smoking products from my local shop as I can. I walked into the shop on a Friday afternoon to see...

Show off your Randy Wiley Pipes Here!!!

Cosmic, Sorry it took me so long but here are some pictures of my pipes next to a MM Country Gentleman and a small Peterson. Hope that gives you something to reference for a size comparison. Also, my inside guy at the shop told me he is expecting a shipment with some new Randy Wileys in a few...

I Hope I Don't Get Excommunicated For This

I am with you on this... I have some briars and cobs for trying new aromatics and have been in situations where said pipes were used to try a new Va/Per and I can not taste the “ghosting” everyone talks about. I grew tired of trying to find a pipe that had rested for 24 hours for the blend that...
