James J. Fox, London, simply for the small museum. The cigar selection is fantastic also. Little in the way of pipes and blends.
Peterson shop in Dublin is worth the stop, pipes and cigars. James J. Fox, Dublin is only a three minute walk away, also worth the stop.
Ian Reis, Chicago, is truly a "smokers" shop with a nice lounge and accommodating staff.
My local shop tries hard. They have knowledgeable staff/owners and a decent selection of blends. G and P Fine Tobaccos Ltd., a presumptuous name but, a fine wee store it is.

Mile high, be thankful for what you do have. Over on the west slope we have one real shop, Rem in Grandjunction. Is is small and limited selection but the folks are great. It is a sign of the times. There is a pot shop on every corner. Go figure.

I have many fond memories of going to The Sanctuary in San Luis Obispo. It is there that I truly became a pipe smoker. The worst shop visit I ever had was the Tinderbox in Reno.

Peretti's in Boston? It's on my list. I will be east in March and hope to have time to swing by. Sounds like they have been around for ages and know their tobacco.
I have been to the new Barclay Rex location in NYC. I like it. Nice staff, very chatty, and I found the location, the neighborhood near Wall Street, very, well, newyorkery.

Sir Tom's here in my Spartanburg SC digs. Small shop, smallish collection of pipes, but nice open tobacco bar & a *stellar* humidor for those broomsticky smoking things. Lots of comfy overstuffed chairs, big-screen, knowledgeable folks, & good company. Iiiii like it a lot.

Trout,

If you are ever in the area check out Edwards on any given night. You will see what I am talking about. Some of the guys there drive by other shops on their way to Edwards.

The Bay Area is blessed with some good shops. Piedmont Tobacconist, Oakland, proprietor, Steven Richman; Briar Patch downtown Sacramento, Telford's, Mill Valley, and Carmel Tobacco, Carmel, CA. Best of the ones I've visited are Iwan Ries, Chicago and Davidoff, London.

Trouttimes, you know, very archetypical (stereotypical?) New York. So, narrow streets shaded by tall buildings, lots of people moving about, lots of shops, filth in the gutters, a few trees springing from concrete, funny accents... but it helps if you know I'm from Arkansas so it all seems a foreign land to me anywhere folks don't us y'all and there are not 4x4s on every street.

Samuelgawaith01, how did you get into Becker & Musico? This past July I made a special trip in large part to visit them, checked their opening times, went by...totally closed, lights off and on the sign posted I was there during open hours. Hm, Italy. Gotta love it. So I went to Novelli and had a wonderful time, great service, and picked up a totally weird Viprati. Then lit up and walked the streets of Rome and would have felt totally cool and continental excepting it was roasting hot and I was sweating through all my clothes and smelled like a...well, lik a sweaty man smoking a pipe. Took some of the gloss off the day.
