HS Studio / Road Town Pipes

I am seeing some pretty great looking pipes at low prices on these on ebay. Does anyone own these? Is quality good? Any concerns?

    Got it! Thank you!

    Lumberman vs. Lovat

Hey All. I am generally growing to like pipes with longer shanks, shorter stems. But I am confused about the identification of pipe styles. What distinguishes a lumberman from a lovat? Or are they the same?

    Planning For Tomorrow's Smoke.

I used to avoid having more than 1 open tin, worrying about it drying out. Reading what you and others do, I believe I won't worry about that anymore. I like the idea of having some choices. But I doubt I will plan ahead. Its just not that kind of thing for me...

    My First Stem Polish

Well this is really interesting. I don't understand it but I am sure gonna try it! I sure can't argue with the great results that @Aomalley27 got. Maybe 12K and 3400 are both so fine as to not make much difference...? So more polishing is more polishing either way?

Are Many Millennials Smoking Pipes? Also: Seek Tobacco Suggestions

I laughed at this at first, but then I thought 'wait...that could happen...again...' :0

Are Many Millennials Smoking Pipes? Also: Seek Tobacco Suggestions

I work in Austin aka 'Millennium Central'. I do see more interest in pipes among younger people. Seems some are thinking counter to the prevailing 'tobacco is evil' mindset. Maybe they are looking for retro/real. Last week my son-in-law had a pipe smoking evening with friends. Just...

Is There A Way To Raise The Heel?

Good tip. Thanks @OzPiper . I bought a cheap pipe with a near-burnout, but nice pipe otherwise. I will try one or both of these

More Pipes For The Repair Table

Wow that meerschaum really is small. Were cigar holders made at an angle like that vs. straight?

    Buying New vs. Estate Pipes

Hey All. I am just thinking about how much I enjoy restoring estate pipes. I guess I can afford new, or even artisan pipes, but I really like rescuing used ones - especially everyman pipes. I know part of my motivation is that I am cheap, but mostly I like the whole idea of it. Seems like I...

Are You More a "Pipe Guy" or A "Tobacco Guy"?

Ha! Seems like this is easy to do... We need a forum called 'PAD Support Group"

Any Interest in an Austin Pipe Club?

Hey All - I noticed there are a few of us from the Austin area. I live in Fredericksburg, but stay in North Austin for work during the week. Does anyone have interest in forming up a pipe club in Austin? I have never been to one, but it sounds like it might be fun...

    Howdy from Austin, TX!

Welcome from the Hill country! I live in Fredericksburg, work in Austin. I am in about in the same place as you in my pipe journey. I am enjoying these early days, but looking very forward to the simpler days that @coastalpelican describes. Speaking of the coast - I am fishing in Port...

Are You More a "Pipe Guy" or A "Tobacco Guy"?

Not sure I fall into either camp... I am fighting PAD; I am enjoying working on old pipes. But what I really like is smoking - even though I am not great at pulling out subtleties from tobaccos. Frankly I have never been good at that through years of cigars either, so I may never develop the...

Are You More a "Pipe Guy" or A "Tobacco Guy"?

Hey only part of them were POS rejects! Ungrateful...always been ungrateful....
