    Hi, Y'all from N.W. Arkansas.

Welcome from Canada and Scotland (Canada right now) nice choices of baccy there ;-)

My, That's a Big Dottle You Have!

You could always embrace it and try the old Sherlock Holmes trick of drying your dottle on the mantlepiece and having it as an early morning pipe... one has to be economical.

    Greetings from Lebanon ??

Welcome from Canada, many a fine shisha has been shared among Lebanese friends - may your pipe smoke well.

    Burley Trials

I can't add much to what people have already said - you'll be trying all that for a while. For me - I really enjoy Dark Fired Kentucky Burley with Virginia in blends such as Peter Heinrich's Dark Strong (extremely similar to Dark Strong Kentucky from Orlik). It's also in Solani's Silver Flake...

Here are My 20 Castello Chubbies

That's some collection (to envy) right there - I wish I had a chubby Canadian, all mine are the... er... usual shape. I hope you give them turns or they might start getting jealous. Smoke 'em well miss.

***What Are You Smoking, January 2022?***

Glad you enjoy it also. I have a good stack of tins - as it sort of replaced Revor for me (which I can't get that for love nor money in Canada). Definitely different, but good stuff NB: it's also available as Commodore Flake for a bit cheaper ;-)

***What Are You Smoking, January 2022?***

Capping off a long (and cold) Saturday evening with some good old Robert McConnell's Latakia Flake in a Blatter et Blatter bent bulldog.

    What are You Reading Now?

A fantastic book - all four in that series are good reads. Do read "Hard Boiled Wonderland" if you haven't already, I really enjoyed it (I'm a bit of a Murakami reader, though I couldn't get through the last book). I'm reading lots of research, but for pleasure, I'm thumbing through the...

***What Are You Smoking, January 2022?***

Backing into the new year of academia with some of Victor Manil's finest "La Petit Robin" in a little clay job. My second pack of the stuff and I'm really enjoying it.

    Jordan Peterson, anyone a fan?

Really not a fan personally. Speaking academically he's quite literally an embarrassment (as he often patently fails to actually understand what he comments on). Standard issue conservative identity politics have never really been "my bag".

I Still Cannot Pack a Bowl Well?

I think you may have hit the nail on the head when you said you're new and you're trying a whole bunch of different tobacco. So they'll have various humidities and cuts. It will naturally take a bit longer to get to your comfort zone with each. I'd recommend maybe drying out the tobacco more...

***What Are You Smoking, November 2021?***

I just cracked a tin of Stonehenge to cheer up this sunny but cold Saturday. Brrr accompanied by some hot cider and rum. Smoking it in a Dunhill G5 Oom Paul / Hungarian (shell briar).

What Pipe would You Like to have Back? Why?

An early Luigi Viprati "rocce" natural finish Hungarian/Oom Paul that I only smoked a few times. It was actually a fantastic looking and smoking pipe.

    Recent TAD Pick-Ups

I've been ordering mainly to add to the cellar/stockpile : 10 x 100g OGS 16oz bag of Bosun Cut Plug (got this a while back with the last drop) 16oz box of HH Bold Kentucky 200g (5 tins) of Solani Tropical Mango 500g (5 tins) of Solani Silver Flake 16oz of GLP Stonehenge Flake 16oz of GLP Quiet...

    First Tobacco You Bought?

My very first was a packet of Holger Dansk Mango and Vanilla - I thought it was pleasant at the time, but then rebought it years later to find it quite sticky, wet and not particularly pleasant. I have been tempted to try the Solani Mango to see if it evokes some nostalgia.

***What Are You Smoking, September 2021?***

Red rapparee before a lecture after a nice set of cheese blintzes at the deli.

***What Are You Smoking, September 2021?***

    Bob's Chocolate in a G.G bent apple/prince 9n this rainy night.

Gawith & Hoggarth Dark Flake Scented Review

A fine review. I was very happy to finally get some Dark Fake (unscented). Though I'm very fond of both, as well as Dark Plug (and Dark Plug Rum). It's been a while, so there were a few "cor blimey" remarks on the first smoke... but ordered more immediately for that long wait until the next...

    Clenching The Mountain Lion

Can you smoke the entire bowl in one session? Redefining the meaning of 'all day smoke' right there.

***What Are You Smoking, September 2021?***

On my doorstep after a long day at the shop. Smoking a weird combination of "left over flakes". I think it's a mix of Bold Kentucky, Bob's Chocolate Flake along with a bit of Salty Dogs and some Orlik Golden Sliced... not bad though! Very nutty. And the postman left me something nice ?
