Thanks monty55. Any where near Arlington. I use to go there often. For the Scottish games. That was a long time ago.

Is sassafras carcinogenetic? I have an old and rare tobacco blend that says it is flavored with sassafras but I am scared to smoke it.

Sassafras. I don't know for sure. But i use to eat sassafras candy and drink sassafras tea all the time. We used to suck on the root as kids. So i don't know for sure. Its been a long time since i was a kid. It dosent seem to have harmed me any. ☺

I got a bag of Sutliff Vanilla Custard right next to me, along with a few other Vanilla flavors from pipesandcigars.com. Going to do a Vanilla Smoke-off battle. I am on a quest to find the best vanilla flavor ever lol.

When you find it please let me know what it is.

I highly suggest Mac Baren Vanilla Cream. It is mostly Virginia, and pretty light, so just be careful not to puff too fast or it'll get hot. Great vanilla flavor though, light enough that you can still taste the tobacco.

Romaso i had no idea. I wonder what it is . i will try to find out. American Indians used it for years . you think something changed in the soil maybe from all the pesticides. Better safe than sorry.

Sassafras contains safrole. That in high doses gave liver cancer to rats. Sarsapariua is also banned. So i wouldn't smoke it. Just my opinion for what its worth. Very enlightening.

Welcome D.T. I didn’t know sassafras grew in Scotland! I have also heard sassafras was determined to be carcinogenic. Many stories of my family growing up in the southern Appalachians (also populated with many a Scot from long ago) enjoying the root as a tea.

Yes i have enjoyed many a cup of Sassafras. Guess we were lucky. Dosnt seem to have hurt us. That was many years ago. You could smell it when you were close. And we would dig it up to take home.
