    Duplex pipe loads

Bruce, I certainly respect your choice and I am pleased that it was so enjoyable for you! Call me a purist if you must, but I dedicate pipes to specific tobacco blends and/or Mixtures so as not to ghost my pipes or cause a confusing outcome of my choice smoke. On the other hand, I do allow...

Peterson St Patrick's Day pipe update

I own a K & P Peterson Standard 312 or 512. I can't make out if it is stamped 312 or 512. I love the shape (full-bent, I am a great Sherlock Holmes fan-original Basil Rathbone Series) and it is not a bad smoke. However, I do not like the P-Lip (hole on top of the stem design). Also, this is...

    Your "Go-To" Blends

When I could not find exactly what I wanted, I entered "blending" as a hobby. After many years, I developed a friendship with the late Craig Tarler (founder of C&D). The rest is history. So, my go-to tobacco is my blend produced by C&D. However, I have many other favorites listed below in...

    Aromatic's...Am I Missing Something?

I agree with drrock. Milan has many wonderful tobaccos and I have sampled many of them over the last 10 years. They were in the running on CBB but did not make the cut. They are a "Blender" and not a "Manufacturer". Don't misunderstand me. I have the greatest respect for Milan. I just...

    Aromatic's...Am I Missing Something?

The late Craig Tarler (founder of C&D) told me that his fear of the FTCA (Family Tobacco Control Act) if/when fully implemented will destroy the small manufacturers like C&D because 70% of tobacco has a "topping" applied. Aromatic versus non-aromatic is simply a matter of degree. For example...

    Scotch

This weekend I had a dinner at a five-star restaurant and, knowing the owner, I asked him to pick a Scotch for me before dinner. He selected Johnny Walker "Green" served neat. It was very good and I really liked it. The cost was $15.00 for each of the two I ordered and sipped. Quite...

    Uhles

I agree! That is why I no longer order from Uhles because I am a Wisconsin Resident. There are a great many fantastic (Latakia) blends from out-of-state sources that are, in my opinion, just as good and I can avoid the Wisconsin Excise Tax. It is so sad...

    Scotch

The only Scotch's that I have not liked are among those that brag about age, specifically 30 Year! They all taste to me like model airplane glue. For me it is all about taste and not age or price. Here is a true story about my "Gin" experience... I was in Portugal on vacation from Wisconsin...

    My pipe has gurgle!

Simply put, begin with a "rested" clean and dry pipe. As for the Peterson, if it is a "Peterson-System-Pipe" I love the pipe, but it smokes wet! In my humble opinion, the "Peterson-System" does not work. I always use a pipe cleaner after every smoke in any pipe, and I rotate my pipes. But...

    Scotch

My go-to Scotch is a "blended Scotch" named "Clan MacGregor". It is only $17.99 for a 1.75 Liter and it is very delicious. I drink it every day! It is imported and bottled by Alexander MacGregor & Co. in Edison, New Jersey...

    Uhles

If you live in Wisconsin and place your order, you will pay the 71% Excise Tax. If you order from outside of Wisconsin, you will avoid the Excise Tax as I understand it. I know the price in Wisconsin. It is $80.25 for 14 ounces plus shipping charges and handling charges! If you live in...

    Uhles

With the Wisconsin 71% Excise tax, get ready to pay $84.00 for 14 ounces! I love Bishop's Move but will not pay the price as I live in Wisconsin!!! __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Wholly Decided on Half & Half

Yes, sparks, and I agree, and, if smoking just one pipe over and over and not letting it dry and kept clean will result in sour smokes with any tobacco over time. But, the PG laden tobaccos as in typical OTC blends for shelf life, just compounds the problem. Just my 2 cents worth...
