The late Craig Tarler (founder of C&D) told me that his fear of the FTCA (Family Tobacco Control Act) if/when fully implemented will destroy the small manufacturers like C&D because 70% of tobacco has a "topping" applied. I agree! That is why I no longer order from Uhles because I am a Wisconsin Resident. There are a great many fantastic (Latakia) blends from out-of-state sources that are, in my opinion, just as good and I can avoid the Wisconsin Excise Tax. It is so sad...- captainbob

My pipe has gurgle!
Simply put, begin with a "rested" clean and dry pipe. As for the Peterson, if it is a "Peterson-System-Pipe" I love the pipe, but it smokes wet! In my humble opinion, the "Peterson-System" does not work. I always use a pipe cleaner after every smoke in any pipe, and I rotate my pipes. But...- captainbob

Wholly Decided on Half & Half
Yes, sparks, and I agree, and, if smoking just one pipe over and over and not letting it dry and kept clean will result in sour smokes with any tobacco over time. But, the PG laden tobaccos as in typical OTC blends for shelf life, just compounds the problem. Just my 2 cents worth...- captainbob
