It's coming up and merchants are already offering up discounts. SPC is 10% off storewide and I think Blue Room Briars is offering the same.

Anyone one treating themselves to anything or have special plans?

For me, it will be an order of Doblone d'Oro from Savinelli via SPC.

I'm going to order a tin of McCs 40th for sure. I'd order 5 but for the Canadian taxes. I'm keeping an eye out for an estate to restore.

I think it's best, instead of focusing on what we can receive on International Pipe Smoking Day, to focus on the true meaning of the day. Which is this.... That God looked down on Earth and saw that man was not happy. Should He make him a woman? No He already did that with debatable results. Should He give man another companion? He already created the dog. They were surely faithful and friendly. But they pooped a lot... all over the place... all the time... man had to invent shoes because of it. So after deep thought, and knowing that man liked to put things in his mouth, which sometimes involved a drink, or a woman, but surely nothing that came from a dog, and knowing that man was easily amused by burning things since the discovery of fire, He created the pipe. So then, man finally had something he could put in his mouth like a... um... pacifier..., something that burned to amuse man, and a warm companion like a dog but didn't poop all over creation.

Edit to add: Forgive me... lack of sleep.

Arrrrr, shiver me timbers! International Talk Like a Pirate Day is September the 19th!!!

I need to get more burley before the end of the year, but I will resist the day's sales due to unforeseen expenses and a nagging sense of economic insecurity.

Going to smoke a pipe, all day. Then pour one out for our departed Dunhill blends and head off into the wilderness.

I just pulled the trigger on this lovely Castello so I guess I will be quiet on IPSD, got it from Mike at Briar Blues. I should mention that he has a great deal going on until the end of this month offering -15% sitewide, not bad at all considering his prices are already more than reasonable!

    MB Latakia Blend

A good one, but a terribly misleading name. Very tiny amount of latakia in that one.

Ben88: his MC BarenLatakia is quite a nice stuff, I have had it in past but today,Well Trying to keep away from any latakia mixtures(since I've got very low stock of those and then I was overdoing em in my youth)but That Mc Baren Vintage Syrian is a good I idea,I like this Syrian better than any other latakia type cause It ain't gotten that punchy character such as Cyprian

Some good sales ongoing Cup O Jones and others, But any profits from them is ruined by our Customs authorities, see, they need money, and are intercepting any parcel coming from outside of EU Region to ensure if there might be possibility to get even a minimal amount of import taxes collected,I'm astonished ,nothin would skip from their radar today, all parcels more than $40 are due to + %24 taxation, sound weird but true. T'would seem that International Pipe Smoking Day only applies to American smokers as we get absolutely no special offers this side of the pond.

Everything is pretty much ~ £14 ($19:60) per 50g right across the board.

    Regards,

    Jay.

Feb. 20 was my first, late wife's birthday. Until she quit with monumental effort, she was a heavy cigarette smoker. As near as I know, her smoking did not contribute to her passing too young at 52 -- not a smoking connected illness. She died on Sept. 19, which has also been named by Dave Barry and friends, "Talk Like A Pirate Day." I only mention this irreverent coincidence because Dave Barry was a favorite humorist of hers and she would have been (or is, who knows) deeply amused by the coincidence.

Jay, this is the first I've heard about International Pipe Smoking Day, and choose to honour it by smoking a pipe, not necessarily buying anything.

MSO, 52 is certainly too young to go. I will send up a few plumes for her on Tuesday.

Been racking my brain over the IPSD deals at smoking pipes and tobacco pipes. They mostly carry the same thing but one has a blend and the other doesn’t and vice versa. I live in SC so I have to pay sales tax and 10% discount turns to a 3% discount with smoking pipes and have to spend $50 for free shipping. Plus I really don’t Know if I want to spend $80 at tobaccopipes. My mind hurts

This is going to be a special IPSD for me. Why? It just so happens I'm off to Atlanta via Seatac ( Seattle ) on Wednesday morning. This means Tuesday might in Seattle, which just happens to be the night the Seattle Pipe Club will have a special meeting for our special day. So I get a long over due visit with the gang in Seattle.

Already ordered from SmokingPipes. Picked up a ton of McClelland and GL Pease VaPers with a birthday giftcard. Got the 10% discount on top of $100 of blends not outta my pocket.

I’ll be ordering $50 worth of Country Squire blends and getting their 2018 IPSD blend sample.

Probably gonna stop by the local shop and buy a tin or two.

Also have a Peterson 120 St Patrick’s Day pipe and two tins of the 2018 blend that should arrive on IPSD.

Thursday is my local Pipe Club meeting, and also my "Friday".

I'll have at least a token pipe tomorrow, but the main festivities on Thursday.

I've narrowed my IPSD commerce to one 500g parcel of GH&Co Dark Flake, Unscented, plus one unit of pipe cleaners to reach free shipping at SP.com.

I too got screwed on the NO DISCOUNT on Dunhill fine print at P&C. But, to be fair, the long list of exceptions is mostly cigars and always has been for as long as I've been shopping there, which is longer than there has been an IPSD. You really can't blame them for getting top dollar on a discontinued blend and not offering a discount. Once it's gone, it's gone. Look at it this way, theyy could be gouging you $20 a tin and there are Dunhill fanatics that would probably pay it.
I only bought 5 Dunhill tins as we all saw this coming. Hopefully the goodie bag will more than make up for it....it usually does.

I'm just gonna wait to have a smoke till Thursday, when I have a personal event. If I cook my tongue to-day, no smoking then. Happy IPSD to all of you! Keep those bowls smouldering.

Smoked a blend from a friend, a hearty 65% Latakia English crumble cake, on my morning commute in a Tim Thorpe Billiard with horn accent. Lunted through lunch. I'll smoke an Oriental blend a friend grew for my evening commute, and then it is a Lodge meeting, so I'll have something before and after. Happy IPSD all.

It's a beautiful day today and I haven't had 40th in a little while, so I'm going to have to smoke some in a bit for IPSD, and then probably a VA/Ori/Lat blend later tonight.

    Happy IPSD everybody! =)

Yaz, I found the same thing when I looked to find some blends. I ended up with a box of Dill pipe cleaners and some Blood Red Moon.

Happy IPSD to all my fellow pipe smokers.

Well, did not expect this to happen but my Pad went wild again,I was looking online for some Stanwell Liverpools&Lovats which I shouldn't of course, then I came across with two silver banded NOS flame grain danish made Stanwells in Denmark (local ads)$100 each so it seems I'm now set back for two hundred and then there is that one standard estate Stanwell 98 on the way which I've gotten other day from SPC that one I'll put for resale once its here. Nonetheless, I wish You all Happy IPSD,Presumably I sure will remember this 2018 IPSD for the rest of my life.
